Retro thanks to Chartstats

Martin's Future Record of the Week

Hard-Fi - Good For Nothing :cheer:

I have hopes that Aloe Blacc could have somehow overtaken Bruno into #2. Also hoping to see SHM at 8 or 9 (I think they could have easily overtaken The Sats and possibly Judas with Friday and Saturday sales, although they're now out of the iTunes top 10 thanks to Rihanna with her boring as hell song :()

And obviously I hope The Prodigy have held onto the #5 album so they get a mention on the show (although they may be an 'album contender' because they were #3 on the midweek update so they'll probably get a mention anyway... hopefully)

Dirtee Disco has to really be one of the biggest non-number ones EVER. I've literally never heard it anywhere (not even on nights out), or anyone play it - and this time last year I was living with the kinds of people who were supposed to be Dizzee Rascal's target market. NO idea how it got to number one.

I've just realised, aren't we now at a point where we can technically start linking to the chart threads from five years ago?

05. (-) Eminem - Not Afraid

07. (5) Edward Maya Ft Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love

01. (1) Gnarls Barkley - Crazy

04. (3) LL Cool J - Control Myself

05. (23) Primal Scream - Country Girl

06. (38) Ordinary Boys - Nine2five

09. (7) Rihanna - Sos

01. (-) DJ Pied Piper - Do You Really Like It?

02. (1) S Club 7 - Don't Stop Movin'

05. (-) Radiohead - Pyramid Song

08. (3) Nelly Featuring City Spud - Ride Wit Me

10. (4) MOP - Cold As Ice

What an awful top 10 last year! Out of those two I like I only really like 'Not Afraid'.

Didn't include 1996 as I only know about half of them. :(

My Retro top 10:

01 Gnarls Barkley - Crazy

Terrible top 10s in both 2010 and 2001 really, shame as I love 2001 generally. That f***ing DJ Pied Piper song is EVIL ROT. :puke:

Hard Fi?! Are they still going? :o

SOMEONE TELL ROONEY!

They also have a new album out later in the year.

SIX of those 2006 top ten are climbers from lower regions :o That's crazy. Xmas week 2009 had 4 climbers (or three if you consider 80-1 a re-entry rather than a climb) but I can't think of any other weeks that came close to that.

2010

02. (1) Bob Ft Bruno Mars - Nothin' On You

03. (-) Iyaz - Solo So much better than 'Replay', but still something missing.

04. (2) Jason Derulo - Ridin' Solo

09. (7) Rihanna - Sos

10. (28) The Feeling - Fill My Little World

Saturdays for Number 11 :D

I'd have thought there would have been quite a few weeks in 2006 with a decent amount of climbers into the top 10.

Anyway, faves:

The more I listen to the new SHM song, the more I think it sounds like the Wanted

Although it's less of a non-#1 than Solo by Iyaz would have been (as it looked like being #1 at the start of the week).

I'm going to end up cringing at my mid-teen self every week, but go on
