Yay adele! Wonder what it'll be at by years end. As much as 1.2 maybe?

I seriously think with that decline for B she could take back the album crown. B is falling and SFTTR is picking up speed, plus adele s Tue mid multiplier tends to be really high. Close run thing either way I think. Do B have any more promo this week?

Decent start from Selena, and I think she could still move up a few places - there was loads of people at her London HMV signing today! :D Amazing album!

Disappointed in Selena though, her other 2 albums reached top 15 but WTSGD (which is her best so far) will fall from the top 20 to something like 25 by Sunday :(

That sounds about right for the album, I reckon between 25 to 30. I've been noticing lately new albums tend to fall pretty sharpish by the end of the week by 10 places or more.

Great for Adele!

If any song released this year so far deserved to hit 1 million, it was 'Someone Like You'. Just shows the power of ballads.

We're just lucky it wasn't Bruno Mars who got 1 million first with his ballad. Grenade gives ballads a bad name, ballads can be good at times (there's a lovely one outside the T40 - 'Jar Of Hearts' by Christina Perri deserves some sucess. I've only just fell in love with it but I think it'll still sound good in a few weeks)

Oh, and congrats to ADELE. She deserved it (it would have been nice if RITD and SLY swapped sales, but she is the sucess story of 2011 and has a rightful place in the million sellers club)

Delighted Take That are still top 5 in the albums and also at Beverley Knight top 10, i hope both hold their positions or high.

Delighted someone like you has also passed the million, i suspect there is plenty of sales left in this song yet by the time the year ends.

I just noticed there's a slight error in the mids post - the report gives Fresh's sales as 62,734 but the mids say 62,374. Only a difference of 360 but still.

Sorted... that's more like the wrong number was transposed.

I agree. Someone Like You was fantastic at first, but I'm bored of it now. Rolling in the Deep I still love. But congrats to Adele. It would be amazing if she got year-end #1 in both the UK and the US with different songs. Has that ever happened before!? :o

The Beatles, maybe? But I agree with your opinion on the Adele songs, I still love Rolling in the Deep which is strange for me since both Adele songs are still hammered on the radio. I adore Set Fire to the Rain though!

^ Yeah, maybe The Beatles. I realized it almost happened in 2009 aswell. Boom Boom Pow was year-end #1 in the US, and I Gotta Feeling was year-end #2 in the UK. I'm like 90% sure Adele will accomplish it though! I can't see either songs being beaten now in their respective countries.
Im glad in a way adele could well be the years best seller,i didnt like someone like you that much at all at first and didnt understand all the fuss, but overtime the song has grown on me and i love the song now, its a simple song, great lyrics and she delivers it power house style live.
Really think that Set fire to the rain will be top 15 in this morning update.
Amazing news for Adele with SLY.

Apart from Lock Essien and Example swapping places the top 10 is exactly like yesterdays. I'm really surprised Lock Essien's track is doing so well, I never expected it to take off.
What on EARTH is going on with Bev Knight there? Is Aaron now thousands of pounds worth in debt and laden with unwanted stock?

HA! Yes. :(

Great to see Beverley getting alot of love on BJ, this release is on her own label so maybe things will get better for her sales wise.Poor Dionne Broomfield things seem to have stalled for her but she has alot of potential.

She was on her own label for the last album too, it sold about half the amount of her previous one.

I'm so pleased Beverley's still at #6 today! There's a long way to go yet, but I figured she'd be like the Nerina Pallot/Sophie Ellis-Bextor albums and fall to about #30 by the end of the week. So far, so good. I'm not sure how I feel about this staying at #6 though, not sure I want it to be her highest charting album, but would be chuffed for her if it was. I'm surprised to see it as the highest new entry, some supermarkets and stocking it and it was very low key in comparison to the other new releases in my local HMV!

I quite like this DJ Fresh song. Its not usually my kind of thing but its a vast improvement on the last 3 no.1s at least.
