July 23, 201113 yr They've taken generic shit to a whole new level yet BJ still foam at the mouth over it. -_- This is much more old school eurodance than it is generic shit! I love it, personally, but I don't think it'll be a huge chart-hit.
July 23, 201113 yr No offence But 'Collide' sounds generic to me...The only thing that makes it sound a little less generic is Leona's vocals...So i wouldn't be so abrupt. Anyway, yeah I predict top 10 nothing new..I reckon it will come in at #7ish and fall to #16 the week after. ...and that is how petty fan wars start. 'Collide' isn't the prime example of originality but I wouldn't call it generic either. Obviously Leona's huge vocals prevent it from being anywhere near generic but I would say the lyrics are the only generic things in the song - and even then 'Collide' doesn't contain "club", "party", "dance", "DJ", "[insert truly pretentious phrase here]". The Saturdays used to show promising signs of being a girl-group that could rival the likes of GA and pre-disaster Sugababes but there's no denying that they have just become trend-followers who have lost the idea of a good melody. 'Notorious' was dire but I didn't think they could get any more generic - which they have done. AFU is just :puke: The sooner they go back to decent pop like 'Work' and 'Issues', the better. July 23, 201113 yr  this song is so useless.. It's not even catchy, just something any home producer would come up with I mean they're a GIRL BAND not some random dj with a obscure guest vocalist. It sounds a bit 90s as said above and that's the only positive thing I can say after one listen.

I can see a similar run to Chris Brown's 'Beautiful People'...
July 24, 201113 yr Author This ain't their best work, but it is so brilliant in a weird sort of way. It's so addictive it's un-real.
July 24, 201113 yr I hated it, now I kind of love it... I think it will have a similar effect on most people.
July 24, 201113 yr Think people will underestimate this.... Capital are already playing it all the time! I can really see this being their biggest selling single BY FAR. Easily get 50k plus for opening week sales...Summer ANTHEM!
July 24, 201113 yr When i first heard this song i thought it was appaling. After the first listen and on very loud, it's actually quite brilliant. I thought it was generic but it isn't, it has something extra. Having said that, quality does not account for chart positions unfortunately and judging by the poor success of notorious, i think low top ten 7 or 8. Anyone who thinks this will get to number 1 is crazy. The saturdays are not number 1 artists, not anywhere close.
July 25, 201113 yr I hated it, now I kind of love it... I think it will have a similar effect on most people. No, only on The Saturdays fans like you.
July 29, 201113 yr I think this will go in at #2. Leona will be #1, i'd imagine. Pixie would be a contender but she's not really a 'singles' artist (I know she's had two #1's but they were on dead weeks and her sales weren't great) and I think she's released the video far too early. The Sats are doing the right thing for once by releasing the song to radio and building up hype before the video. It's a real club anthem, although I prefer Notorious to it. It'll either peak really high and plummet, or do a Higher/Ego and peak low top ten and have good sales. Not #1.
July 29, 201113 yr This growing on lots of people and getting great airplay - I can't see it missing top 5 now tbh. I'd say number 3.
July 29, 201113 yr This doesn't really 'feel' like a Saturday's single.. it should be credited to a DJ with a few miscellanious girls on backing vocals. It's also a bit boring.. I had to stop it at around the two minute mark because I was tired of the repetition. Top 10 at best..
July 29, 201113 yr I'm sorry but I just LOL'd at your final statement after seeing you go on writing about generic songs :heehee: :P Okay, so maybe I should've added "by their standards". :P
July 29, 201113 yr I am very disappointed with this song, especially after Notorious which I loved. I hope this goes top 10 to continue their run of top 10 singles but hope it doesn't hang around long. I expect to chart in the top 10 since it is the Saturdays and their fan base won't let it not be top 10 especially as they are building airplay up and getting promo in before its release. Out of the big 4 that week (Leona, Pixie, Sugababes & Saturdays) I think this will chart the lowest.
July 30, 201113 yr Author Sugababes are releasing on the 18th September now according to Amelle. The Sats and Pixie are also doing quite well on the Airplay chart.. no sign of Leona! The charts a rolling 7-day chart, but non of the les.. http://www.ukairplaychart.com/c/?export=&a...eek&length=
July 30, 201113 yr I think this song is brilliant personally. It's generic, but better than most of the other generic songs in the chart imo. I do agree though, that it doesn't sound like a Saturdays song. It sounds like a dance song by some unknown DJ with them singing over the top. It's very good though, which is what matters most imo.
July 30, 201113 yr I think this could get top 5 since demand is being built up for it. I'll just go out there and say there is a chance all three will make top 5, although one will probably be top 10. I think I'll be downloading all three. Edited July 30, 201113 yr by starryeyed
