I hope "Back to Black" stays Top 10, but if it could slip below Beyoncé, that'd be great. :kink:

I'm guessing there isn't hardly any stock of the album in supermarkets, nobody predicted Amy passing away last weekend, so there wasn't any demand for the album, its only now the stock is coming out, hence why Adele is still #1.

Also most of the buyers must be buying the album online through Play, Amazon etc etc, and their stock is pretty much exhausted.

I think Adele could actually hold on, just depends on Amy's album stock getting out to retail suppliers.

The deluxe version of Back To Black has now been removed but Adele is still number one. That means one of the following is likely.

1) They've removed the deluxe version but haven't added the sales to the original

2) Sales of both versions were included with the original yesterday with the deluxe version also charting separately

3) Adele was comfortably ahead yesterday and sales of everything else are so bad that she is still ahead even with the two Amy versions being combined.

I'm 99% sure its #3.

It is a shame they put the price up again on Back to Black from 59p to 99p. Would probably have a comfortable position in the top 5 by sunday if it was kept at 59p. At least it is holding on in the top 10. So happy LIALG looks set to stay top 40 by Sunday.

Oh, that might explain why it abruptly stopped climbing and started falling again. That's just iTunes being greedy.

Yeah I think it's in really poor taste for iTunes/her label (not sure which one) to take advantage of Amy's death and the consequent rise in sales of Amy's songs.

#1-10 are near confirmed, as are #11-14. #16 is definitely Example, so the two Guetta tracks, Blacc, Rizzle Kicks and Chris Brown are estimated.

I'm now told that from now on The OCC WILL combine

the Sales of both versions of 'Back To Black'. We will see.

It means that the Sales of each version of 'Frank'

will be combined, too. (Or should be, if they are

doing that for 'Back To Black').

I don't know what will happen with the Sales

of the 'Frank' + 'Back To Black' 'Set'. Logically,

The OCC should halve its Sales, & add one half to

'Frank', & one half to 'Back To Black'.

It does not mean that they will do that.....

What is your source for this? Just four hours ago the OCC tweeted this:

@sxa555 I believe on this occasion yes. There is a reason why they are counted seperately.

Which strongly suggests they will indeed stay separated...

Also, regarding Frank & Back To Black, that should remain charting separately as it's essentially a 'box set' of 2 albums. They didn't split up Kylie's sales last week so they shouldn't split up Amy's sales this week.

The only confusing thing is a while ago they said they were going to make an exception and do that for her anyway, though maybe that was only for the decade/all time list. I remember the original BTB charting then when deluxe came out it was routinely higher in the chart but eventually the deluxe seemed to disappear and it was just BTB charting again (thought they had combined it at this point). Technically following their own rules they shouldn't but I think people will cry foul if they don't. Clearly the deluxe is more depleted now anyway looking at last/this weeks sales.

Agreed about boxset sales- list them separately at least just too confusing. Same happened with pink recently too. Although there's always the great Queen GH /Platinum collection debacle. For years people thought sales of platinum collection added a sale or proportion to GH1 sales tally- how else could it be so far ahead of everything in the all time list? Then it was announced all sales were completely separate meaning about 8mil copies of it have been sold in various guise! :o if you believe it

It's 89p on Amazon. I never buy on iTunes

If it weren't for so much misguided brand loyalty, other sites like Amazon would be forcing iTunes to lower their prices across the board...

My HMV had NO Amy Winehouse stock today (well, it wasn't displayed). I imagine she may sell more albums next week as shops will be prepared.

You know the entire top 40 is on the R1 website right?

Aloe is #15, Alexandra is still #17, Guetta is 18 (WTGA) and 20 (LBG) and LMFAO are still #19. You need to take into account the Now! 79 versions as well ;)

We have been told not to expect any stock of Amy Winehouse until early/mid next week!! The sales on Amazon, Play, HMV etc, have been huge and they are still accepting orders even though at present they do not have the stock to fulfil them.

This is alot different to when MJ died as he had so many back catalogue titles that most record shops and supermarkets had something of his and also due to the amount of releases sales were spread out where in Amys case everyone is after just 2 releases. If she does not make it to #1 this week then I'm sure she will next week when there is enough stock to meet demand - Shame so many sales have been missed this week though due to a lack of physicals.

Should be back in over the next couple of days.

shame that the jls stock doesnt run out so no one buys that trash

Digital 'stock' can't 'run out'. It's only a problem for Amy right now because CDs still make up the majority of the album market. If digital albums had a higher percentage share of the market Amy would almost certainly be #1.
