If sales remain low this week then hopefully Wretch 32 has a good shot at No 1 next week.I hope Nero can hold onto No 1 this week.

Under 14k for number one? Seems my prediction of the lowest weekly sale of a number one since Taio Cruz's third week with Break Your Heart is likely to come true then.

tbh after last weeks sales; its not as though the prediction wasn't going to come true - unless another singer dies etc - they I reckon the Number 1 will be around 40k

Album chart

2 Jay z & Kayne West - Watch The Throne 12,340

:o Surely not? As far as I'm aware it's only on iTunes at the moment, not physically released until next week...

If that's just off downloads...WOW.

It's only around 1 500 behind Amy at #1 too! :o

Update in, Nero is #1 single :o Give me a min.

Vey impressive!

Had no idea it would do this well! Just checked and it seems it'll be physically released on Friday.

So if Amy's on around 14k, her sales by the end of the week should be pushing 40k again. Despite the wretched album sales further down, sales for the no. 1 recently haven't been too bad!

UK dubstep duo Nero are leading an extremely close race to top the singles chart this Sunday with the week's top seven sellers so far separated by just 3,000 sales.

The MTA/Mercury act’s newly-issued fourth single Promises is ahead of Epic’s She Makes Me Wanna single by JLS featuring Dev by around 550 sales at this stage of the week, according to the Official Charts Company.

Syco’s Cher Lloyd is a similar distance behind in third place with Swagger Jagger. Lloyd debuted at number one on the week-end chart last Sunday after selling 66,316 copies.

Nero, JLS and Lloyd are joined in the battle to top this week’s chart by a handful of other records, including Positiva/Virgin act David Guetta’s single Little Bad Girl with Cruz and Ludacris whose sales are up 13.5% on the week and Christina Perri’s Atlantic single Jar Of Hearts whose sales are 255% higher than they were a seven days ago.

They are respectively the week to date’s fourth and sixth biggest singles with Global Talent/Island act The Wanted’s declining Glad You Come between them in fifth spot and Asylum/Atlantic's Ed Sheeran seventh with The A Team.

Apart from Nero, the only other newly-issued singles showing up at this stage among the Top 40 positions is Nusic Sounds’ Charlie Simpson with Parachutes and Virgin’s David Guetta featuring Sia with Titanium.

It is also far too close to call on the artist albums chart at this time with around a gap of 1,600 sales between Island’s Amy Winehouse album Back To Black at the top and Def Jam/Mercury’s rush-released Jay-Z and Kanye West album Watch The Throne at two.

Winehouse and XL’s Adele continue to have two of the five top sellers with the late Island artist’s debut Frank in fourth place and Adele’s 21 and 19 respectively in third and fifth positions.

Orlanda heavy metal band Trivium are aiming to score their second UK Top 10 album with their Roadrunner-issued In Waves showing up as a new entry at six in the midweeks, while just outside the Top 10 positions at 11 is J/RCA’s Pitbull album Planet Pit whose sales have more than doubled on the week.

A Rhino retrospective by Randy Crawford will also be among the new entries this coming Sunday, as will be albums by Decca’ Mary-Jess and another Epic-issued Glee Cast album.

The EP has been top 10 on the album chart pretty much since release - so must have helped the sales quite a bit + its still rising on itunes :)

Randy Crawford wow that is old school she is in the UK doing promotion so clearly it is working.I wonder if it is her Greatest Hits album.
Interesting to note that the top 7 singles at the moment are seperated by just 3,000 sales. I would be very happy to see Nero remain no. 1 for the rest of the week. Rather Nero than any of the competition to be honest.
This is gonna be the first week since 21 was released that it's not gonna be in the Top 2 :o

Amy Winehouse Midweeks:

01. (01) Back to Black - Amy Winehouse (13,912 -20.6%)

04. (03) Frank - Amy Winehouse (5,553 +1.1%)

55. (38) Frank & Back to Black - Amy Winehouse

Fantastic (but, as I posted in the iTunes thread, not at all unexpected) to see Nero at #1 today :cheer: They just need to somehow hold it for the rest of the week, 550 is not enough of a sales lead. They need to continue climbing and get to at least #2, if not #1 on iTunes - their EP is still #4 on iTunes Albums so that should be helping its sales nicely.

Anyhow, not pleased to see Christina not top 5 today, she's now falling on iTunes so will probably have to end up settling for #5 at best now :( Hopefully Ed will re-overtake The Wanted and get back to #6 by Sunday.

Both of Adele's top 40 singles are climbing :w00t:

Foster The People and Benny Benassi top 20 :w00t:

LMFAO climbing

21 out of the top 2 for the first time :( Well, it could still overtake Watch The Throne I guess. And at least she still has 2 albums top 5.

Pitbull climbing again :D

Glee Cast set for their lowest charting album to date...

01 Glee - The Music - Season One, Volume 1

02 Glee - The Music - Season One, Volume 2

04 Glee - The Music - The Power Of Madonna

03 Glee - The Music, Volume 3 - Showstoppers

02 Glee - The Music - Journey To Regionals

41 Glee - The Music - Best Of Season One

37 Glee - The Music - The Christmas Album

23 Glee - The Music - The Rocky Horror Glee Show

04 Glee - The Music - Season Two, Volume 4

04 Glee - The Music - Season Two, Volume 5

07 Glee - The Music - Presents The Warblers

06 Glee - The Music - Season Two, Volume 6

Hopefully Guetta/Sia will gain in the coming weeks, I think it's an amazing song!

Love the Wretch 32 song also, not usually the sort of music I listen to, that certainly deserves to be #1 after next week
