I still see David Guetta taking #1. People going to clubs at the weekend should boost it.

Album sales are probably going to be pitiful this week due to the riots... in fact, I would say that boosts 'Watch the Throne's chances of being #1, seeing as how many of their sales will be downloads relative to Adele and Winehouse.

I thought iTunes controlled which songs had their prices increased/decreased and not the record label..?

I think that might be true. And if it is, then I imagine iTunes will still have to give the same amount of money to record label, etc. as if it was 99p.

I don't think LBG is old enough to benefit from the weekend effect yet. Nero are very close to #1 on iTunes now in addition to having another version just outside the top 100 and the EP still #6 on iTunes Albums (it's actually climbed a place since last night). I think once they do get #1 they may well get a really good lead which could seal the #1 in Nero's favour. If that doesn't happen it could be closer but only if Nero really start to fall in the latter half of the week.

Nothing to do with the riots - they are always crap in mid-summer, as no-one significant releases their albums then.

Updates in, no change at the top, give me a min.

Nero still at number 1 :o

Nero still at the top, oh PULEEASE hold up there!

And about who decided to make the song 59p, I think it's both record label and iTunes. For example, it's obvious when 'Notorious', 'Easy Please Me' and 'Jar of Hearts' were made 59p, it was down to the record label trying to get a higher peak. But I think the older 59p songs are indeed reduced due to iTunes only. And they still pay the same amount to the label, as Eric said.

I think Nero stand a very good chance of holding #1 all week now :D They're frustratingly close to #1 on iTunes with their top version now... they're almost certainly there combined but it'd be nice if the main version could get to #1 anyway, it's literally just over 2% off JLS now.

Both Adele songs still set to climb :D

Anyone know why Pink is back in the albums Top 30? Reduced price maybe?

It might just be climbing because sales are so low and there's nothing really out to overtake it (although there are 3 new entries above it which is a much better showing than last week where the highest new entry was #34...)

Yes, but they're going to be even more pitiful than they have been in recent weeks because of the riots (shops closing early, people reluctant to go to city centres, etc.).

Warehouse full of Syco and indie lables CD's burnt down (Yeah! Burn those Cher CD's :P)

Where is 'Super Bass' please? :D

11 - remember the Wednesday mids are posted in full on R1's website :P

The gap between Nero and Cher is about 1,500 today - so it's widened a bit from around 1,100 yesterday. They're being very vague about the gap between Nero and JLS, just saying it's 'under 1,000', but that probably means the gap is between 900 and 1,000 which means Nero are increasing their lead. Just a guess though as even if Nero's lead has got smaller that'd still technically be 'under 1,000' :P

Amy Winehouse is now 4,300 copies ahead of Jay Z and Kanye (from Irishguy28 at UKMIX)

Wasn't it closer yesterday?
