August 21, 201114 yr I wish Emeli and Maroon 5 were each a place higher. Cannot get into this Wretch song.
August 21, 201114 yr Emeli stayed top 2 :D This is just same old shite Maroon 5 with a dancey beat. Flush. No more dancey than Makes Me Wonder was back in 2007, doesn't sound like a bandwagon jumper to me at all... Anyway, I'm really pleased for both Emeli and Maroon 5, excellent pop songs and it's great to see no club-bangers in sight at the top end of the chart, even if I'm not overkeen on the #1. That's not a slight on Wretch 32 as I've just paid £8 to download his album! Based on the first two singles and the Ed Sheeran collaboration though as opposed to Don't Go
August 21, 201114 yr Actually this is quite decent but it is a bit Yasmin with a better voice (and better hair :smoke:)
August 21, 201114 yr Best song in the top 40. Shame it wasn't at #1, but #2 is amazing anyway. I never thought I was going to see her with such a big hit, I was slightly expecting a VV Brown type career for her, but I am so glad I was wrong. So happy for Emeli right now.
August 21, 201114 yr She is! and don't tell me you wouldn't love Kylie to promote and really be everywhere like gaga is. She is far from the best popstar out there, thankfully. And yes of course I would like Kylie to be everywhere but she isnt. Gaga is having her time now but in a few year someone fresher will come out and she will be playing catch up too. She will never be an legend like MJ and Madonna thankfully so im happy with that. Edited August 21, 201114 yr by Dannyboy
August 21, 201114 yr 01 (**) Olly Murs 'Heart Skips a Beat' 02 (**) Calvin Harris 'Feels So Close' 03 (01) Wretch 32 'Don't Go' 04 (03) Maroon 5 'Moves Like Jagger 05 (**) Will Young 'Jealousy' 06 (02) Emeli Sande 'Heaven' As it stands on iTunes, the top 6 will look like this come next Sunday - would be quite happy with it actually. I'm hoping Sande doesn't fall any further than #6 as Sheeran and Example the following week will no doubt push her either to #10 or out of the T10.
August 21, 201114 yr I preferred that Misery song they had. That was much catchier but it underperformed. MLJ has the voice effect which has led into it being a hit in the states though and getting a proper WW push.
August 21, 201114 yr Heaven is really growing on me, she has a really good voice  probably would've preferred it at number 1 over Wretch, but his song's OK too, plus it's nice to see two Homegrown talents in the top 2 Edited August 21, 201114 yr by C.W
August 21, 201114 yr A shame the worst and most forgettable of the three new entries had to be #01 this week :( I suspect it'll have the least longevity of the three two. Maroon 5's is a great comeback and Emeli's is a stunning track and probably one of the best British songs of the year!
August 21, 201114 yr That Maroon 5 track was absolutely DIRE. Glad Emile managed to stay above them, shame she wasn't #1 as it's by far the best of the three new entries this week.
August 21, 201114 yr She will never be an legend like MJ and Madonna thankfully so im happy with thats She's got a shot at that kind of status why not? and you can tell she really wants it. I'm rooting for her. Kylie's only had two top tens in the states! Pathetic! Her last 3 albums have bombed too. She peaked with Fever and it's been kaput since then sadly.
August 21, 201114 yr No more dancey than Makes Me Wonder was back in 2007, doesn't sound like a bandwagon jumper to me at all... I agree it's not a bandwagon jumper. That doesn't make it any better. I'd *prefer* it if it was a bandwagon jumper because then they wouldn't sound like Maroon 5 :P Edited August 21, 201114 yr by Bré
August 21, 201114 yr This is why I wanted Maroon 5 at no.1. Reggie wouldn't be gushing embarrassingly.
August 21, 201114 yr True. Sales must be pretty close, this track should have been #1 SLIGHTLY flawed reasoning
I think Will will fall as the week continues, I think he will end up at around #8 officially, so I think Emeli can hang onto the top 5.
