05. Example - Stay Awake 42.8%

06. Leona Lewis - Collide 42.1% (0.7% ahead of #07)

dont forget the second version of example... he's been #3 combined for most of the day i think :-)

Plus, a lot of Taylor Swift fans don't like artists such as Ke$ha (the two have pretty much opposite fanbases!), but surely if people were liking artists based on what they looked like, they'd like both of them. I know there's some people that like both though.

I wish you hadn't phrased it that way - it now makes me appear shallow to say I like both artists... :)

We're talking about vidcapper here. He'd like Eminem if he was an attractive female singer.

Only if he/she wasn't a rapper. :P

Oh if you read vidcapper's posts a lot being a hot woman in music is very advantageous to him. It does appear that he only likes music by people who he finds attractive.

Yeah, very droll.

That doesn't explain the 15-20% of the music on my iPod that's by male artists, though... <_<

Because I love Gym Class Heroes and hate Adam Levine. 'Stereo Hearts' would be up there with the other 3 if it didn't have Adam's annoying voice dragging it down (yes T Boy, I am bashing Maroon 5 again, I apologise but this is in direct response to someone else's comment which I'd like to respond to but can't without saying this again). Unless the song is poor by their standards I'll like it more than SH. I did say 'almost certainly' instead of 'definitely' because I'm allowing for the possibility it will be poor by their standards. I just doubt that as I've absolutely loved everything I've heard by them so far and 'Billionaire' which may as well be a GCH song. When an act has such a good hit rate with me it's fair to assume I'll probably like almost everything they release (and the same vice versa - I may suddenly really like Maroon 5's next single but it's highly unlikely)

This is correct but I'm not biased enough to hate Stereo Hearts just because of its feature - it would just be far better if it had a less annoying featured vocalist is all. I do still like it. :P

 You can bash Maroon 5 all you like. I know you're hater and should take Cher Lloyd's advice and 'let it go' :P

But seriously you can say what you want, but I did ask you NOT to bring up my name in your Maroon 5 arguments especially when I'm not involved in the discussion in anyways. Please don't do it again.

Since they don't seem to have any new material in the offing, I wonder if this will be repromoted after Moves Like Jagger has done it's thing?

I hope so! It was a massive hit in some other countries, so I'm sure it could be big here too with better promotion this time around. It just seems soooo old now though.

The Saturdays - Missing You on release week was #07 at this moment in time last year. I am shocked All Fired Up has remained top #3 I hope they get at least 4 weeks top 10.

Quite a few artists do it. Like last year Florance + The Machine, Eliza Doolittle and 3OH!3 did.

Ed Sheeran's song, You Need Me is another case. It was released in 2009 I think, and flopped first time around (obviously, since nobody knew who he was then ), and he re-released it now after the success of The A Team.

That said, You Need Me didn't do that bad the first time around. I was looking at the RnB charts the other day, where You Need Me is #1, and I noticed that it's a re-entry at #1 and on its 7th week in the chart! :o So on its first release it managed 6 weeks in the RnB chart! :o http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/rnbsingles

Seek bromance is such a tune, shame it was released in the same week as promise this, only girl in the world, the flo rida remix of higher and check it out (I'm not sure about the last two) and couldn't break into top ten :(

The Sats #3 after being out for a week. :o Not bad. Missing You and Forever Is Over were well out of the top five after their first week on iTunes.

I wonder if it could scrape #4 or #5 next week? One Direction will be #1, then I think M5 will be #2 and Pixie #3....Sats could be #4?

I think Higher and Check It Out were released the week afterwards IIRC. I remember that I really hated Seek Bromance when it first came out, but after a few months I grew to love it  It's weird to think this is the same Avicii who produced Penguin (and therefore Collide). Fantastic DJ!

The problem with Seek Bromance originally was the usual case of hearing the instrumental for a couple of months first, then hearing the vocal version, and it just seemed strange. The singing seemed out of time with the music when I first heard it. I've got used to it now, and I still love it. :D I remember when Seek Bromance charted next to a Michael Buble song, and then Reggie started making jokes about his man-crush on him being a bromance.

I listen to this version the most though:

They'll have to shoot a new video if they're going to do that. I think one of the reasons it didn't do as well when it was released last year was the ridiculous censoring of the video. It had to go through so many edits before it could finally be shown on UK tv. Go search on youtube for the UK edit of the video. It's quite frankly a joke.

I still don't think it would have gone top 10 without the video fiasco but it could have done better than top 30.

Collide #7 :o This has had an itunes run similar to an OA/OS single, with a peak, then falling fast. She should be able to get some good sales though with more promo and airplay

Snow Patrol at #13... This isn't going top 10 then i guess :(

Off topic: MLJ back to #1 on US iTunes, SLY down to #2
