The guy who sang Love You I Do was so average. I geniunely had to watch J-Hud perform it to remind myself it wasn't that bad in reality

I did the same but with 'Wuthering Heights' by Kate Bush. :D

Hey it's Ant :D (I think? Herbie from Cool Clarity?)

We should get both Herbs and trampy trev to reunite upon hearing the news that Damien Rice is heading for the UK top 10 with 'Cannonball'. It's like we've gone back in time to Cool Clarity circa 2004.

haha totally!!!!

'Cannonball' for shock #1 next Sunday? :D

Not if Dappy has something to say about that

:o OMG, Cannonball #4  never saw that coming, its like having 4 weetabixs for breakfast

You know... it's always killed me trying to think of what Cannonball reminded me of but I now finally realise that's it's like having 4 weetabixs for breakfast. I am so relieved, thanks Mikey.
Well Cannonball would be a brill number 1 imo  Far better than Dappy (though I don't mind No Regrets) and One Direction (you all know how I feel about that song...)

And we have a winner for M!key of the Week.

Is that a saying? If so, what the hell does it even mean?

Surprise Weetabix for breakfast is definitely more exciting than 'Cannonball' in the top five, although I do love the song. MIKEY IS ON TO SOMETHING.

the chart rules when cannonball was first released ruined its chart run - it was actually disqualified one week because it increased its sales by more than 5%. so at least now it will give the song the extended chart run it fully deserves.

I'm confused. Why is it a crime to increase sales by more than 5%?

Cannonball is nice - but I wouldn't like to see it at number 1, it would be very weird considering it's a few years old. I have it on the Brit Awards 2004 album so I won't be buying it :D I can see it growing on me in the week if I keep playing it. I've never actually heard it before today (maybe I had but forgot it)

HA, its Chris's new Mikey quote of the week. :D

at that point songs peaked and then fell. i cant remember why it was a rule but it meant that cannonball disappeared for a week and then reappeared just outside the top 40

I did wonder why it was missing a week in the chart. That seems like a stupid rule. I can't think of any other songs that did that so I had assumed it was just the OCC cocking up and forgetting about it for a week!

I'm so happy to see Cannonball so high! I loved it back in 2004 and was mystified to why it never charted higher. Such an amazing song and deserved success. Something X Factor has finally done right.
