Most of the contestants seemed so shy and quiet on the Xtra Factor. They'll probably grow in confidence as time goes by though. Also, someone on the Xtra Factor said Frankie reminded them of Brian Molko from Placebo and nobody agreed, but when I was watching Frankie's performance, I thought the same! It must have been the guyliner.

Janet is younger, and she smashed it. There's no excuse. Same with Amelia, I would defend her as she's my runaway fave but she messed up, you can't deny it. And if she goes, fair enough because Sophie, Janet and Misha all bettered her.

JANET

That is all.

I am ROLLING MY EYES right now.

Oh my gosh...

Can anyone just imagine if Kelly made them pick straws or something because she couldn't choose?

That would sickeningly hilarious though I have to admit. Oh I'm a bad person.... :(

Can someone explain to me what was so excellent about Janet's performance. All I see is faux-quirky vox over a "nice emotional" song. On that basis she's surely going to deliver every week in exactly the same way? Where's the diversity going to come from?

OH GOD, she might! I couldn't choose. I'd have to make like Sharon Osbourne and leave! But I don't think she would because if it was Misha or Janet she'd be f***ed. I think she'll choose Sophie, hopefully she'll see Amelia CAN do it (E.T., Piece Of My Heart) and let her smash it next week, by giving her a better song.

Sophie, Craig, Mischa, The Risk, Sami all stood out for me tonight.

If It was down to me choose which 4 should go it would be Jonjo, James, Rhythmix or 2 Shoes (I really like them though and they are potentionally brilliant). The girls are hard but unfortunetly I'd say Amelia :( Sophie will go which is a shame as she was by far the best girl IMO.

Apart from the fact she's an abysmal singer, Janet cannot win because she has NO personality beyond 'I'm shy, I'm Irish and I have frizzy hair!' there is no gap in the Market for a Diana/Ellie clone and she can't DO anything else. She has no direction, doesnt seem to be interested in music and has no stage presence. She'd never be able to take control of her own career at this stage. She should come back in a few years after a GREAT MANY singing lessons.
There's loads of baiting for the people who like Janet, but don't like one of the other so-called 'decent' ones. Yet, there seems to be no complaints made about the constant 'OMG JANET IS SHIT' comments. Double standards?

Much as I loved her tonight, I have to agree. She isn't marketable; I just can't see 'Janet Devlin' at Xmas number or anything, it just doesn't click.

Why did tulisa give them that song to sing ugh :( i still gonna keep my hope that the'll get a 2nd chance if not then hopefully a record deal and slays 1 direction next year.

Janet has a good voice, BUT she's a one trick pony. It's a great trick, but for a competition like this it's just not good enough.

Well you should be satisfied because you've just complained about said comments. People allowed to dislike Janet you know, I wouldn't call it baiting.

but rebecca ferguson last year was more bland than tap water, and people cheered her on to the point where she came second. was she versatile? no. did she have a strong personality? no. besides, janet sings because she wants to and feels that it's what she's best at. that's what it's all about.

To me Janet is a physical representation of sugar paper, Watercolour Challenge, the Liberal Democrats, The Works chain of shops, a £5.99 Carvery pub on the dual carriageway all ROLLED INTO ONE.
John? Do you mean James? He's not even interesting enough for people to remember his name

Haha, sorry yes, James!

You fail to see versatility in a woman who sang songs ranging from 'Candle in the Wind' to 'Show Me Love', 'Feeling Good' to 'Sweet Dreams'?

If you're going to hold ridiculous nonsensical biased opinions at least back it up with something that isn't factually incorrect?!

but she stood there like a barbie doll. granted, I can't see janet raving about the place like a pop star but I'm just saying those in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

I think it's a bit unfair to say Janet is 'unversatile' or a 'one trick pony' at this stage. At least give her a chance. No one thought Cher could do a ballad but 'Stay' was one of her best performances. If she does try to do something different and fails THEN WE'LL TALK but for now I'm supporting Janet because she has the best voice of the lot by a long way. No one else in the competition has made me think 'this is amazing' the way Janet has, apart from Misha B who ruined what was almost an equally strong performance with the rather awful rap bit in the middle.
