I can't think of anyone who's done 4 in a year!! I'll keep looking though :D

Kylie actually had 4 #2 singles in 1988 i.e Got To Be Certain, The Locomotion, Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi and Especially For You as Especially For You spent the whole holiday period at #2 and only got to #1 in 1989.

The point was peaking at #2 though.

Do you know what? KONNIE HUQ would do the chart better than this.

Album Discussion Here

the version of Wherever You Will Go is very good, but its the original for me any day I'm afraid, I guess that just shows how good the song is

Yes, peaking at #2 in a calendar year. Especially For You DID peak at #2 in 1988.

I think everyone's forgotten about the most obvious 'most #2's in a year', Elvis had 8 in 2005 as part of that awful reissues series, clearly that tally will never be beaten

Sure they were all re-issues of old hits but I'd still say that it counts.

Pedant - the point was songs overall peak being in one year.

I don't understand what people mean when they saw Florence is flopping - she's lucky she even got a T40 peak out of 'Shake It Out'. 'Kiss With a Fist', 'Drumming Song', 'Heavy in Your Arms' and 'Cosmic Love' all failed to crack the T40 all togehter - so [sIO] is only her fifth T40 (including the Dizzee Rascal collaboration).

Likewise with Marina, I think a #25 debut is fine (although disappointing) for 'Radioactive'. Remember that Marina is still an 'alternative' act, so her fans may not have agreed with this dance-move - hopefully the album is more like 'Fear and Loathing'.

Big tumbles for Leona Lewis, Ed Sheeran, Example and Will Young this week - the former two especially will no doubt drop out next week and for #4 peaks haven't sold much at all.

'Wherever You Will Go' is such a cringe-worthy song, not matter who it's performed by. :puke:
Annoyed that Bruno never made a music video for MY. It would have been another top 10 for him. Now his streak is broken.

Scottish kitsch-dance producer, Calvin Harris, burst on to the UK music scene with his tongue-in-cheek single, "Acceptable In The 80s", which reached number 10 in the UK singles chart. A blend of retro synth sounds, and knowing lyrics it set the template for Harris' debut full length, I CREATED DISCO, released in June 2007. The album was preceded by Harris' second single, "The Girls", which upping the ante with it's ironic claims of sexual attractiveness--set to a synth sample from the Human League--the single shot top number 3 in the single charts. - HMV

Not 100% - he has spoken to the #2 before.

But I agree it is likely now :(
