Ahh yeah I just realised neither of the tracks are anywhere near the Top 200 on itunes so can't have sold in their own right. They are likely his physical sales then?

We had the same thing a few weeks ago with The Saturdays. The B sides were gone the next day but I can't remember what was decided. It didn't help that the sales info on the first update was slightly incorrect. I suppose we'll just have to see. I don't see Matt charting higher than 5 and I have a feeling it won't even be that high come Sunday :(

They had two of their b-sides in the Top 30 didn't they? Something like that. I think it was a case of they'd already combined the sales of the b-side/physicals etc and allocated them to All Fired Up on the Tuesday (which is why their sales where quite high because the b-side sales where technically counted twice, or something like that) then on the Wednesday they removed the b-sides which took their respective sales away.

Wish Bjork was a bit higher, doesn't look like Biophilia will be outpeaking Volta :(

Great for Steps though

The Steps Compilation is their 2001 'Gold' CD - plus their 2011 Recording of 'Dancing Queen'.

But, the Steps Album is in 2 versions - their Sales will be combined. The first version has

1 CD - 20 Tracks. The 'Deluxe' version has the 20 Track CD, plus a 20 Track DVD. (Although

HMV & Amazon have got it wrong, & think the DVD has 19 Tracks).

The CD has 'Dancing Queen' on it. But, it is not on the DVD. The DVD has 'Words Are Not Enough'

on it, but that is not on the CD.

Amazon.uk have made it pointless to buy the 1 CD version. They are selling it for £8.93. But, they

are selling the 2 CD version for £8.99 - meaning that you get the 2nd CD for just 6p more!

This is not quite true, the new collection also includes "I Know Him So Well" and "You'll Be Sorry" which were not on the 'Gold' album. In return "Baby Don't Dance", "Only In My Dreams" and "Words Are Not Enough" have been omitted from this CXD but was available on the 'Gold' collection. Another selling point is that on the new collection the singles have been put in chronological order as they were released whilst on 'Gold' they were in non particular order.

The only selling point for the 1-CD version would be that it has a different cover, which looks a lot nicer than the CD/DVD version.

So happy for Steps :)

Stereo Hearts is going to be top 3 on sunday. Perhaps top 2.

The top 5 singles is really good. :o

Yeah, either way it won't make much difference, I can see it charting at about 6 or 7 now which is catastrophic to X Factor fans used to seeing winners sell highly and is definitely under performing. Slightly amused how happy this makes people, over on the lovely Digital Spy forums, there a couple of posters on 'flop watch'.

Well, you've (inadvertently?) hit the nail on the head there. Like pornography, Steps benefit from the internet, for much the same reason. In the download era, people can download whatever they like, and no one needs to know. There's no more embarrassment of picking that Steps album off the shelf and mumbling, "It's for my little sister" at the shop assistant.

Chig

No kidding - for that reason I wish music downloads had existed in the early 80's. ;)

Bearing in mind that the Steps album was released on Monday & Evanscene has been out since Friday & Steps performed on This Morning on Monday sales would have increased since then. We would have to see the mid weeks for a true reflection right as they got to number one on iTunes during yesterday afternoon? They ll be on tv on Friday again so more promo lined up. Could very well get the number 1.
You Me At Six, Are they still top 10?

Where the hell could you buy Evanescence on Friday?

Well, we know what posters can be like over there  At the end of the day, out of 6 X Factor winners that released a 2nd single, only 2 have actually gotten to no.1 with it. It really is difficult to define not getting there as a flop or not. Obviously it is a flop when you consider how long some of the winners who didn't get to no.1 lasted on their labels afterwards but then, if the success rate is less than 50% for the winners as a whole, is it actually a flop or just expected? Either way, I think it's the album that's usually the deciding factor. Leona, Alex and Shayne all did well with their first albums (Leona doing phenomenally) and managed to last (well, a couple of years for Shayne at least) whereas Steve, Leon and Joe did quite poorly and were dropped soon after (although Joe has managed to come back from this). It's difficult to say how well Matt will do. If the single is indication then it would seem Matt will not do well with the album. However, I do believe he does have some high pre orders. I'm not sure what they were like for the other winners. I suspect he'll miss no.1 to Noel Gallagher though.

Glad that Rih is staying on top for another week! What singles are getting released next week? Hopefully We Found Love's video is released next weekend of maybe on the monday so that it can stay #1 for a 3rd week.

Both albums were released at exactly the same time. I do think Steps will overtake Evanescence but they'll still end up #2 I reckon, but being held off by Adele instead.

its insane that adele could return to the top. i think steps will just about edge it however as the show featuring the recording of dancing queen is on tomoro. in the long run it wont be a massive seller. i may be sad and buy the deluxe edition cos itd be nice to have the videos all on one disc
A massive promo slot on the X Factor and Matt Cardle can't even manage the Top 5 - had Rihanna had a slot this week she would have had astronomical sales. I can't say I like "We Found Love" that much (it's falls a bit flat compared with the really good singles that led the "Loud" era), but I'd much prefer that to have an extended run at the top just to: a) congratulate Island for releasing it early, and b ) piss off UK record companies and their abandonment of OA/OS/ and general 'holding back release strategy'. If she released the video next Monday I could see a potential 4 week chart topper+
Did someone murder Fix You on X Factor? :(

Janet Devlin performed it, yes. I personally thought she did it very well, although she's by far by favourite in the competition anyway. I suspect you'd probably hate it. Imagine Diana Vickers singing it and you're pretty close, although Janet is a lot less annoying than Diana :P

He's #5...

He's not going to end up at #5 though. More like #6 or #7.
He's #5...

He won't be on Sunday, but yes, at the moment he is. I expect him to be overtaken by at least LMFAO by the weekend. Oh and :D at "Loca People" dropping to #8 - hopefully out of the Top 40 in a few weeks!!

I think he could stay #5. We'll see anyhow.

His album will be fairly big either way though. Mark my words.
