Maroon 5, Jennifer Lopez and Christina had one successful song, doesn't constituite a 'great comeback' especially as Maroon 5's album didn't do so well.

I would say they would - they've been successful this year - yes all 1 with uber successful single - but they're still comebacks and back into public eye

Deeper Shade Of Blue, Summer Of Love and It's The Way You Make Me Feel were tunes :D

Agree. And so is this:

This song's great, it took time to get used to but I'd like to hear more from her, her next single could go top ten if it's not OA/OS

Jennifer Lopez had a #1 and #9 single this year - alongisde a T10 album - I'd say that's a successful comeback. As for Maroon 5, it's been a successful return on the back of 'Moves Like Jagger' - album peaked at #6 at first, but is bound to be selling enough at the moment to constitute it as 'not a flop'. Aguilera's return was a flop - no point denying that. Her appearance on 'Moves Like Jagger' is limited - wouldn't class the appearance as a comeback.

This song sounds so out of place in the chart today for some reason. I love it aswell. So chilling.

Steps are the first British boy/girl group to get #1 albums in the 3 consecutive decades

And they've beaten Take That, Spice Girls and Boyzone who failed to get to #1 with their post-reunion Greatest Hits

True; but she's still got a credited Number 2 this year - its her most successful year for quite a while :D

Scottish kitsch-dance producer, Calvin Harris, burst on to the UK music scene with his tongue-in-cheek single, "Acceptable In The 80s", which reached number 10 in the UK singles chart. A blend of retro synth sounds, and knowing lyrics it set the template for Harris' debut full length, I CREATED DISCO, released in June 2007. The album was preceded by Harris' second single, "The Girls", which upping the ante with it's ironic claims of sexual attractiveness--set to a synth sample from the Human League--the single shot top number 3 in the single charts. - HMV

Completely amazing mindf*** with those retros. Three great new entries last year with "Forget You", "Miami 2 Ibiza" and "Radioactive"; possibly my favourite #1 of the century in 2006 and Linkin Park's best pre-"What I've Done" moment (and another of my all-time favourites) in 2001.

In other news, boo at Evanescence falling all the way to #4 - it's not really clicked with me yet but Steps? really? However, YAY at "Power" re-entering. Magnificent song, shame it couldn't repeak. I think MBDTF will go on to be one of those classics in years to come where people are incredulous at how badly it did over here.

I want to know when Sophie Ellis-Bextor will get her turn.

Never? ;)

I think her featuring on 'Moves Like Jagger' could put her in a better position if she has another crack at releasing an album, but I don't know if she'd get the radio support etc. Mind you, if Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Scherzinger can score huge #1s then there's hope for her at least...

True.

At least until next year!! I reckon Christina will be HUGE next year! :D

She's got an album due out in 2012. I really hope she releases the lead single before the end of the year, preferably next month.

Going by that, a #1 album last year sounds better on paper but we all know that's not necessarily the case... :P
