Matt Cardle is falling sharply on singles. I also think the album will drop quickly next week and predict he might not be around in 12 months time.
Thank you for the update. Joe still doing his climb through the week albeit lower down the chart. Surprised Steps still Top 3 thought Adele might have overtaken but good for them.

Hopefully the Bieber will fall down the chart over the next few days.

By the way, has there been a Xmas song in the charts in October?

I've realised why Maroon 5 are rebounding in the albums. It's in the 2 for £10 deal. Hopefully it'll climb back top 10. I'm surprised Rihanna hasn't overtaken the Wanted yet though she definitely will by Sunday.
Big drop for matt cardle in the singles but i kinda expected it. Delighted Steps are still top 3 i hope they hold on, another 30k+ this week would be great for them to.

It's a bit pathetic it's taken price cuts and price offers to get it to sell again (and not even in particularly great quantities) even after the size of MLJ. It did go top 30 again after it was initially re-released, I know, but a top 30 album off the back of one of the year's biggest hits is not great going.

Thank the FSM for Daniel O'Donnell knocking M5 out of the top 10 today  Hopefully '19' can overtake them as well. And then it can overtake one more album and get back in the top 10?

'Natural Disaster' in the top 40  It is a bit of a disaster (pun entirely intended) that it's doing this poorly after Example's last 2 singles both made #1 but top 40 is a start and there's always hope it's one of those songs that continues to climb after its proper release... probably not but I can pray

Brilliant to see Nero in the top 30 as well although I thought it could go top 20 since it was already in the iTunes top 30 three weeks ago. Ah well.

Lowkey in the top 40 today? If it holds onto that, that'll be an even more bizarre top 40 album than 'Let Em Ave It' and 'Cole World - The Sideline Story'

Well, to be fair, until today you couldn't find any copies of HAO in my local HMV. There were literally NONE in there last week. They were pushing Songs About Jane for some reason (like that album needs anymore sales!) I wouldn't say 'pathetic' either because I imagine most people who bought MLJ are more singles buyers or just like the song whereas a lot of hardcore M5 fans will have bought the original release over a year ago. Still as long is it's up there it should sell consistently for a while I imagine particularly given the price only got cut this week and yet it's not much higher than it's been over the last couple of weeks.

Oh, and J Lo's album is on sale too and she had a massive hit, and she's not as high up :P

Oh and if anyone's interested, I received a reply from the BBC for my complaint about the chart show a couple of weeks ago. I'm not allowed to disclose what they said apparently but it was pretty much what you'd expect from someone who tells you nicely that you are wrong. I didn't expect anything else tbh.

Maybe 'pathetic' is the wrong word but considering Maroon 5 haven't exactly been particularly a singles act in the past, it's not great going that HAO hasn't been any more than a middling success even after it's produced a massive single. And they obviously don't have that many hardcore fans either as it didn't exactly do that well on its original release. It's all well and good selling loads of singles (although we don't know yet if MLJ is just a one-off or if M5 will get more big hits after it anyway) but selling albums is a lot more important and Maroon 5 aren't doing brilliantly at that at the moment, which is a bit surprising given how massive the sales of SAJ are.

(Also, I was referring to the price cut on iTunes as well - it's been offered there at a reduced price for a few weeks now, which was what caused it to go top 20 again and #1 on iTunes)

Regarding JLo, just because she's doing even worse than Maroon 5 with her album doesn't mean M5 have been a success

No, it's not doing great but M5 haven't even really been an albums act for about 7 years now. IWBSBL was no.1 but it sold averagely. And I very much doubt Maroon 5 will have anymore big singles, MLJ is a fluke in my book.

Danwootton on twitter tweeted that The Wanted are just 160 copies ahead of Rihanna. Guessing she'll be #1 tomorrows mid-weeks?
Wednesday Update Top 40 Only

Singles

Top 10

Lana Del Rey

Lana Watch Pt II

Great to see Lana maintaining her place inside the top 10. I'd hope that 'Video Games' is still #6 but it may have dropped to #7 perhaps? Hopefully not, and with the song on the verge of the iTunes top 10 I'm hoping it can break into the top 10 at some point in the next 24 hours.
