For those doubting 'Rack City', have a listen of 'Faded' featuring Lil Wayne and 'Far Away' featuring American Idol finalist Chris Richardson. I've held off buying 'Rack City', instead waiting for the album - it's had really good reviews from what I've read - just annoyed that they pushed it back until Monday - was originally scheduled for February 21.

A lot of new 'rap' entries this week actually, Tinchy, StooShe (to an extent), Azealia Banks, Tyga, Rihanna + Jay-Z.

Tyga's album's physical release had to be pushed back a few days in the US, because of a sample that wasn't cleared or something (I HATE it when that happens, I can't imagine all the fantastic songs we've missed out on over the years because of the sampling not being allowed :(). It's really annoying, because it meant his album charted at #4, when it would've charted at #3 with a full week of physical sales.

So I was thinking, maybe the reason it was pushed back here was something to do with the sample?

Tyga's been so lucky really. Rack City unexpectedly blowing up like this, and at the same time he was on The Motto remix, which was also a massive tune. His album would've been lucky to even go top 40 if it wasn't for all this.

Dot Rotten down to #43. I wasn't expecting him to do amazingly well, but I'm shocked he's looking to miss the top 40. :(

M.I.A. up to #41 though, which is good. I love this song. It takes me back to a few years ago when all the RnB artists (Timbaland, Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, etc.) were putting middle-Eastern melodies in their songs.

Come on Nicki! She's so close to re-overtaking Emeli. :D

02. Emeli 'Next To Me' [0.7664]

03. Nicki 'Starships' [0.7577]

I really want Nicki to get her first UK number 1 with this. Ugh. Kelly is down to #13! Hopefully she can re-overtake Jessie soon though...

It'd be funny if Taio's 'Hangover' charted just below Ed Sheeran's 'Drunk'...
Mark Ronson & Katy B - Anywhere In The World

This track is featured on the new Coca-Cola ad for the Olympics, should make an appearance soon :D

Is there not a release date of May-time for it? Would be stupid if there was, its everywhere now and should be released...although it means it could be in the chart until September lol, why are they playing the ad now?

Tinchy Stryder seems to have started falling now, but he should have top 10 secured for this week now. I'm pleased it's done so well.

Slightly off-topic, but for those who think Dappy is free-falling, Far East Movement's new single in the US, which was released 7 days ago (last Tuesday 28th February), on air, on sale, went straight to #2 on iTunes, and is now currently at #48. Check for yourselves if you don't belive me. It has fallen from #2 to outside of the top 40 in the space of 1 week. So on air, on sale doesn't prevent this sort of thing. And this type of thing happens regularly aswell, ask the others who follow US iTunes.

Ugh, and it's annoying to see Rack City down to #33. I would love for it to make the top 40 this week, but I think it'll need to climb more to be safely in there.

Clearly the Far East Movements last single was one of the biggest openers of the past few years so new material from them is going to be highly sought after. This led to it to jump up the chart but until its airplay on video and radio and promo kicks in like any single its going to fall away for a while. OA/OS still follows the 6 week promo only its available to buy throughout this period - its about getting the release strategy right and the song being good enough to be high in the chart.

Gotye's 2nd version up from 54 - 46 in the past 24hours and good to see Arctic Monkeys and Charlie Brown by Coldplay holding up again!

That would be so funny! :D

Woah, when did Hangover stop climbing at slugs pace? :o

Yeah. This happens very often though. B.o.B was #2 on iTunes last week, and he's free-falled, worse than anything we ever see in the UK apart from those Christmas campaigns, and his song is brilliant imo.

Marcus is really decreasing. :o I feel sorry for him because he seemed like a nice guy but this was NEVER going to do well, was it? :(

What does an itunes no2 correspond to in the official billboard chart though?

B.O.B went to #11 but plummeted in the next week.

Artists like Lil' Wayne and Taylor Swift almost always shoot to #1 with new singles on the US iTunes and then end up missing the top ten completely because they have zero airplay and their sales tail off majorly at the end of the week.

Marcus does seem a really nice guy so in some ways I will feel sorry for him if this dives. However XF last year was terrible talent wise and he is extremely average so can't say I'm surprised. The video (however shocking) is on every time I turn on the tv so its not like he isn't getting exposure.

Anywhere between #1 and #15, since they calculate the chart weirdly, including airplay, VEVO, etc..

In the UK its just sales though, so those songs would be havin chart runs like 4-35-OUT over here.

Well, at least he hasn't been assassinated by outraged White Stripes fans (yet).
