THIS CONFLICTS WITH MY POINTLESS RESEARCH. Boo. Conor for official #2 please.

Also for your pointless research both CRJ's and CM's track length is 3.13 which I noticed yesterday

Amazing how stingy the British public are that they need a 40p price cut on songs before they purchase them.

Indeed, hate the 59p songs cluttering the 30-75 poisitoins in the chart each week!
I think it's great to see labels take the initiative. Back in the day (90s) CD singles used to cost £3.99 at full price, but all but the very biggest artists sold them for £1.99 or even 99p in week one.
Danny O'Donaghues sexiness demands it ;)

Agreed ;) Breakeven instead though :P

91 The Game ft 50 Cent/ How We Do 59p?

Yes. It's the 2nd of The Game's songs they've discounted now. :)

14. Linkin Park - Burn It Down

15. Train - Drive By & #44

25. Katy Perry - Part Of Me

30. The Fray - How To Save A Life (This could actually go top 40 this week :cheer:)

35. Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag (This could remain top 40 this week)

36. Kings Of Leon - Use Somebody

37. Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing

46. Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling

52. Jay Z - 99 Problems

53. Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire

58. Alexandra Burke - Elephant

59. Shakira - Waka Waka

73. The Script - Breakeven

84. Marlon Roudette - New Age

97. Justin Timberlake - Senorita

For some reason I tend to agree with this, it just stops the decent tracks/music getting higher in the chart.

If Justin's worst single is as high as #97 with a discount on iTunes, surely that shows people are wanting him to make a big comeback and to show Conor and Justin how to do their new sounds properly. :( (Although I do very much like the other two songs :P)

but it also stops complete rubbish getting higher in the charts!

Wow, that's an old quote  Have to agree though, I really hope someone does it on The Voice one day soon... possibly me :kink:

If you was picked, which team would you have wanted to go on, just out of curiosity, my guess would be Danny

Not that this will come as a surprise to anybody, but I would choose will.i.am if I went on The Voice.

It doesn't surprise me, no :P

Nah, Danny's cute and all, but the only one I'd trust fully is the legend that is Tom

Stingy? Financially prudent I'd say, this represents a 40% price reduction after all. :)

I think with the 59p thing, a lot of the time its because it is brought to the attention to people by having a little link to click on from the homepage to go on the song list, so it is just bringing songs to peoples attention once again, and ofcource 59p is a bonus.

Also 40p is a lot if you're a regular music customer so I wouldnt say it was stingy at all.

Worst single? :o I love Senorita! But I love pretty much every JT song tbh  What a guy!

Nah that's my song "laughs".

For some reason I tend to agree with this, it just stops the decent tracks/music getting higher in the chart.

but some of the songs that make it in are all time classics that are way better than whats out now :P

I see nothing wrong with reducing a price, it clearly works and in these times, ANYTHING with even a tiny price cut (I know I'm a uni student ), even a song on tiunes is useful!

The 59p list are essentially being advertised on the iTunes front page. It's obviously going to start selling far more when it's being advertised, especially when it's cut price. I somehow doubt there's anyone who's been patiently waiting for this particular song to go to 59p before finally downloading it. The majority of the buyers probably haven't even heard the song for ages.

I don't have HTSAL on my iTunes actually so I'm going to go download it now since it's cheap anyway. I'm sure this is the mindset of a lot of people.

-x-

I don't have a problem with the 59p promotion putting old songs back in the chart. There's often loads of old songs in there anyway. It boosts overall sales which can only be a good thing.
