As the very first winner of the AMERICAN IDOL television show competition, Kelly Clarkson was inevitably pegged as little more than a manufactured pop commodity. The surprisingly versatile singer managed to survive against expectations, however, and released one of the most infectious singles of 2005, "Since U Been Gone." The success of the song not only endeared Clarkson to a tremendously diverse cross-section of the music listening population, it altered her status from mere contest winner to genuine pop sensation and pointed to a career worth following. - HMV

I heard the new Far East Movement/Bieber (LMFAO remix) thing last night. I fear for my future sanity.

Yeah. It's pretty awful. :(

I was already bored of this about three weeks after it entered the chart, how this has been so huge eludes me. (Then again this applies to most of Kelly's big hits).

The Far East Movement are pretty good, but the rest is like PRA part 2 :(

Since U Been Gone and My Life Would Suck Without You are amazing imo. I never really listen to any of the others though.

Reggie's going to have to storm out of the building if he wants to make The Voice live show at 7.30 :o

It's a good thing that they pre recorded the results yesterday I guess

Yeah. I'm not too concerned though, it's going to be nowhere near as big. It sounds so dated.

Pleased to see this spending a second week top 40 - not necessarily surprised after similar releases by Arctic Monkeys and You Me At Six did similarly, but pleased nonetheless. I'd love to think this could climb back up and peak higher than #27 but that's clearly not happening :P
