Remember when the UK chart had plent of new music every week instead of oldies and overplayed re-entries?

I only started following the charts in 2009, so I don't. :( I wish I did though. :(

If you're reading this Reggie - I can tell you that The Fray are back in the chart because it's 59p :P Of course you can't say that on radio :drama:

I hated this back in 2007 (When I had to post it week after week doing this chart here). Sigh.

Andre & I once posted it as 'How to shave your wife' one week and no-one noticed!

Is this the 2nd song (after Teenage Dirtbag) to re-enter the top 40 from a 59p discount that wasn't a recent hit or had some other form of promotion?

You'd think if you were the chart show presenter, you would try and find out why some old tracks are re-entering before you on air

I don't know why but this is the only song by the Fray I really like and actually really quite love.

Another 59p entry that is very welcome to keeping the charts fresh, yes I know it would be better with a new song but when was the last time you heard this? :D

Remember when the UK chart had plent of new music every week instead of oldies and overplayed re-entries?

Was this when sales were quite bad and there was a new number 1 most weeks?!

Horses for courses.

'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' and 'Drops of Jupiter' both re-entered following performances on The Voice UK though, but The Fray and Wheatus are purely re-entries on the back of a 20p reduction; which is just hilarious when you think about it.

Far more exciting times, I recall, when all genres seem to cohabitate perfectly. Nowadays, the top 20 has a major phobia to anyone playing rock music.

I agree, but I feel this year has been much more diverse musically, the current top 10 has a very wide range of genres imo

Things go in cycles. Rock/Indie are popular in bursts (oddly usually mid-Decade) so it will be back.

Seems he can..... :)

Yeah, it's a shame. The charts moved more back then, and the actual music was better lol.

I think 2012 has been much better than 2011 though (so far).

Yessssss!! Jay-Z/Kanye! This is definitely one of the best club songs of 2011/2012.

Oh yes sorry about that forgot to mention about that. But I'm sure The Man Who Can't Be Moved and Drops of Jupiter were 59p weren't they?

Despite being a fan of both Kanye and Jay-Z I haven't liked Paris or Otis! :(
