June 7, 201213 yr - Shy'm's song requires a space in between "alors" and the exclamation mark since the French require some punctuation to count as an entire word (not good for getting under essay word counts when you like to use guillemets). Keypopian Republic's entry may need 'Drageur' in lower case, as Numayania's entry is, but that's not a hard and fast rule. I'm done now. Nazi de la grammaire much? :kink: But guillemets are cool. Dragueur is capitalised because In-Grid is Italian and doesn't know better. (Reading between the lines you hate my song but whatever).

June 7, 201213 yr C'est dégeulasse :puke2: Putain! C'est quoi ce charabia que tu racontes? :kink: (jk! c'est une blague, mais ma prof m'a dit que 'dégeulasse' est un gros mot. :( ) * Anywhore, is it really necessary to leave a space between a word and an exclamation mark/question mark etc.? I never did it in uni en France because it looks so untidy! That said, I never really pay any attention to French grammar. :P * this is probably all grammatically incorrect and I cba checking, mais on s'en fout?
June 7, 201213 yr I think my entry would be classified under that "campiest, most generic shit ever" category . Well mine most certainly is, and I'll hold my hands up to that

Tu me traites de putain? :kink: Ta prof à raison, mais à mon avis c'est pas si gros que ça, c'est essentiellement "minging". I know the rule about seperating punctuation, but I never realised it counted as a whole word :o
June 7, 201213 yr This coming from the guy who sent a text with 'à le' in it :o... Shhhh, given I was texting you, I can deduce I was DRUNK* OKAY. (do I really still text in French? I don't even remember that) Tu me traites de putain? :kink: Ta prof à raison, mais à mon avis c'est pas si gros que ça, c'est essentiellement "minging". I know the rule about seperating punctuation, but I never realised it counted as a whole word :o OpenOfficeWriter thought they were entire words, so they were entire words. :( *this sounds like some sort of insult. I assure you this isn't the case. Edited June 7, 201213 yr by Harve
June 7, 201213 yr I really LOVE my entry this time around, although I suspect it won't appeal to everyone here. I particularly love the fact it sounds like they're shouting "DANDZ*" at me.
June 7, 201213 yr I've just noticed Dandy* using the track I have been keeping for the next UP, back to the drawing board, :drama: I thought it be more suited to UP, oh hillocks.

June 7, 201213 yr Your taste is getting more similar to mine of late, I don't recall you being so indie before but maybe I'd just not noticed? It doesn't stand a chance of winning but there's just something that keeps dragging me back to it. Indie + electro bits = heaven for me (even if it is slightly generic heaven!)

When it comes to unknown music, the more indie stuff tends to be better as both good and bad indie music aren't going to do as well as pop music commercially and therefore remain unknown. Only bad pop music tends to be unknown (and for a reason!). So in BJSC I'm more indie than I'm usually seen portrayed as across Buzzjack as all the good pop music is too well-known to be entered! (if that makes sense?)

(if that makes sense?) Have to agree with this tbh, generic pop has gone really downhill lately and with a few exceptions, the mest new music coming out at the moment has an alternative edge. That's the reason why we have had recent hits from artists like Gotye and fun., because they stand out and are literally alternative to most of the current chart music. Believe it or not I was considering Swiss Lips too, but I thought a foreign language pop song would stand out more. That turns out not to be the case, but hey.
June 8, 201213 yr Voted! I have to say, this is one of the weaker semi finals I've been in, I really love my top 3, and most of the others I've voted for, but the rest I'm not really getting excited at all by and it was really easy to cut down. Ah well, at least there's nothing awful this time round.
June 8, 201213 yr Voted! I thought the semi was quite poor though :( The quality has gone down for the past couple of contests unfortunately.
June 8, 201213 yr This contest is an odd one, I think semi 2 is the actually possibly the best semi I've seen, but semi 1 is possibly the worst - definitely a massive change in quality  I'm glad I don't have to vote in semi 1, I'd have trouble! For the first time ever I'd probably have to 'fill' votes with potentially random songs!
