September 16, 2025Sep 16 I still have Series 15 to watch so probably need to make a conscious effort to do that before this is released. Looking forward to it being back though!
September 24, 2025Sep 24 I've nearly binged it in two days. Some of the stories hit HARD, as usual (Episode 4 especially).P.S. Mitch is a cutie.
November 8, 2025Nov 8 Enjoyed this series. I'm hoping that Darius gets his comeuppance next series.I did wonder at the time if it was out of character for Joe to cheat, but he and Mike seemed to have issues for a long time.I still don't know what to make of Schuey. It seems to be one step forward, two steps back with him constantly.
November 15, 2025Nov 15 I assume Darius will get his comeuppance in a big way. He is such a horrible character. His scheming cannot last for much longer.
December 14, 2025Dec 14 Returns 6th January at 9pm on TV for the same double bill with the news in between. All 8 eps up on iPlayer on the same day.
December 14, 2025Dec 14 A friend of mine was filming for Waterloo Road the other week, I imagine he’ll appear in the block after this one.

January 7Jan 7 I'm half way through already and this has to be one of the best series yet. The character development for the likes of Portia, Izzy and Agnes is very strong. It's good to see more of Darius' background and makes more sense about the way he is. Freddie and Luca's story is cute.Denise Welch was fab in episode 2, I think she returns later on.
January 7Jan 7 Portia, Nicky and Nisha knocked it out of the park this season as well as obviously Stella as always and Darius.
January 28Jan 28 Completed the series yesterday after watching at weekly pace.I'm glad they fleshed out some of the characters, particularly Izzy and Agnes. I did wonder if the grooming storyline would have been a whole series arc but I think having it and then showing the fallout was probably better. The ending was very satisfying with Darius getting found out. The Luca & Freddie scenes were sweet. I'm also glad Noel & Stace got something resembling a happy ending.
January 28Jan 28 Aw Noel And Stace are very underrated but I really enjoyed that pairing this time around. Noel in particular has come a long way since his first series!
February 17Feb 17 Just finished watching the series. Darius was bound to fall spectacularly, and that's what he did. The on-again off-again relationship between Agnes and Schuey is not untypical of teenagers, and the Freddie - Luca storyline was really sweet. Look forward to some new characters in the next series to replace the leavers.
February 20Feb 20 I've finally caught up on series 15-17 and god knows why I didn't sooner. Probably, in my opinion, the strongest era of the show with Lindsey Coulson as headteacher since Rachel? She's really surprised me in the best way given I've not particularly enjoyed her in much else I've seen her in. Amazing all round but the moment she got back into the office and just let it all out after what happened to Hope... chills.I still don't think they're truly nailing storylines like they did in the original run with how hard-hitting they can or should be (and I guess trying to adopt a more realistic school-life approach kinda means they sacrifice the more outlandish, dramatic moments). The 8 episode count feels like there are some key moments we're missing or that are being brushed over with just passing mentions for us to pick up on and drop back in on the characters when they're ready to have their big moment. The Hope/Sam, Libby/Jared and Nicky/Portia/Tony storylines were all done really well, and then Noel and Stacey are just great together. But then we have total nonsense for the sake of it like Joe and Mike splitting up. WHY ffs?!Kim leaving is probably the best thing that could have happened for them to keep moving forward and give us new iconic characters to fall in love with (Coral, Nisha and Debs being absolute queens) considering they've milked the nostalgia as much as they possibly can at this point (the fact they're really paying attention to the show's history all the way back to series 3 bringing Celine back with Ashton are small things I really love too, even if that didn't really need to happen). Very much enjoying having Steph back though, hopefully a lot more of her to come in series 18
February 20Feb 20 With Joe and Mike, I kind of get it because they seemed to be arguing most of the time we saw them on screen even before Mitch came into the picture.Having said that, where I thought it was out of character for Joe was with how keen he was to foster Schuey in the first place.
