With Joe and Mike, I kind of get it because they seemed to be arguing most of the time we saw them on screen even before Mitch came into the picture.

Having said that, where I thought it was out of character for Joe was with how keen he was to foster Schuey in the first place.

Yeah it didn't really make sense for them to suddenly flip it on its head and have Mike appear to be the one Schuey confides in the most and still lives with when Mike was the most skeptical to begin with and Joe was really pushing for it. But I do really like Mike as a character (Joe much less so) so I'm glad he's at least still got a reason to stick around in whatever capacity.

A poor excuse for an anniversary celebration considering it’s probably been watched to death on iPlayer by now gaga

Return confirmed for

Chelsee Healey as Janeece.

This time, she’s back as a regular cast member, joined by newcomer Lauren Hylton as her on screen daughter, Cheryl Bryant, a new student at Waterloo Road.

Also joining the student cast are Leo Ashton (Liam Shaw), Callum Broome (Nathan Clark), Yousef Naseer (Ibrahim Azzi), Lewis Pemberton (Cane Morris), and Keelan Wright (Marshall Clark). The upcoming series will also introduce a wave of newly qualified teachers (NQTs), including Tashinga Bepete as Edward Connell, Cora Kirk as Leah Merchant, and Mollie Winnard as Gemma Tully.

I believe a friend of mine will feature in an episode of the next series.

More nostalgia just... because. What could she possibly add to the show now that isn't just going to seem like re-treading what they've already done with having Donte, Celine, etc all return having had children now? And she's already returned twice since she left the first time lmao. They need to have more faith in the new cast they have carrying the show because for the most part they're all brilliant.

If they insist on keeping on bringing old characters back they better have Eva Pope on speed dial for a return at some point bratcheeseblock

I am excited for that return, she’s basically the #1 I’d have to return from the old old days and we knew Cheryl before as she was born on screen, so I think it’s exciting to see her come back as a student and we’ve had her as a parent, staff and student now!

Always up for that return. It’s great to have familiar characters popping back in especially when the show is already in such a strong place.
