I hope the Killers are #1, simply because P!nk will eventually sell more on the long run.

Is Biffy Clyros new single out on vinyl or cd? If so he could go top 40 al la Noel Gallagher - i remember he used to regualrly get top hits with physical sales before radio 1 jumped on the bandwagon and playlisted his singles!!

My predictions for Wednesday’s update:

01 The Killers

02 P!nk

03 The XX

04 The Script

05 Bob Dylan

06 Emeli Sande

07 Coldplay

08 The Vaccines

09 David Guetta (maybe, with the promotion of She Wolf)

10 Carly Rae Jepsen

I presume this Various Artist/Kanye West album will appear on the compilation chart? Wasn’t too sure about #9 and #10, but I didn’t know what else could appear. I didn’t think Pet Shop Boys or Joe McElderry would have a second week in the Top 10. Or maybe Two Door Cinema Club remained there for a third week?

Joe McElderry could easily stay top 10. Remember 'Classic' stayed top 5 for five weeks! I definitely can't see him falling any lower than #15 or so this week anyway. PSB on the other hand will be lucky to scrape the top 50 for a second week.

I really hope 'Cruel Summer' is on the album chart somehow but it won't be.

It's an interesting comparison but I don't think P!nk has the selling power to make #1 this week. HMV yesterday had her stocked below The Killers in the new releases, I'm guessing they have a pretty good idea of how it'll pan out.

not true in my local HMV they had P!NK above The Killers. I guess it is down to the store.

Yeah, I definitely think Joe McElderry will be Top 15 tomorrow, probably #11/#12 (one place behind or ahead of Two Door Cinema Club). I do think Joe will be able to be Top 10 on Sunday though, as his album will probably have a "weekend effect".

He? They're a band.

Had no idea they have a new single out now. So many new releases! No wonder the shops want releases to be more spread

'Beer Fear' cover version at #115 in the mids

Lee Thompson‏@leethommo

Good grief, there's a cover of @lspraggan song 'Last Night (Beer Fear)' on iTunes right now...and people seem to be actually buying it!

Paul Kramer‏@Paulhitsheet

@leethommo Is it by Kate Nash? #beerfear

@Paulhitsheet Sadly not. No.115 on the midweeks too. Another classic from those good people at 'Big Hits 2012' productions!

Saw that coming the second I found out the song was going to be deleted.

Interesting to see which artist gets #1.

online retail sees the killers generally doing better. (Amazon, Play.com, HMV)

I think Pink will be no1 album. Her single has done a lot better than the Killer's and their last no1 album was on the back of the highly successful only human song.
Pink alledgely leading the album chart by around 1k both her and the Killers looking at circa 90k for the week
I think the Killers will get #1 this week, but P!nk will sell alot more albums in the long run.
Id say thats 90k prediction - probably around 40-45k now!!
While the reports here are reporting impressive sales, i did hope the Killers would be the number 1. I also believed if they did not get number 1 they would at least be number 1 in the first midweek flashes so i am slightly disappointed that not even that has happened. If reports are true this will be the first Killers studio album not to make number 1 by the out look on things.
What makes people so sure P!nk will sell a lot more in the long run? I dont think The Killers sales will die off as quick as people will expect. They've always been consistant album sellers. I can see 'Battle Born' being a sort of mini-'Mylo Xyloto' sort of success.
