I really expected Bellowhead to drop quite a fair bit, I think I take that with a pinch of salt for now, it was a new entry at #16 on Sunday.

And what's classic tearjerkers up at 4, that could mean anything. unless I'm missing something.

And lol at Dappy, I expected him much lower than that to be honest, probably looking at #13 by Sunday

'Classic Tearjerkers' is a compilation album - Was #5 in yesterdays' mids and is #4 today

Classic Tearjerkers is a compilations album Martin - Been advertised everywhere at the moment.

Dappy at 6?! Oh dear god. Please leave the top ten by Sunday.

Pleased to see Taylor doing so well. If anyone told me three months ago her new album would be number one in the UK with around 80k sales in 3 months times, i would have laughed in their face.

I hope Naughty Boy can stay top 10 by the end of the week. He's still stuck at #11 on iTunes, but there's another version from Emeli's album.

I was thinking at the start of the week "Oh, Lawson are at #10, so he'll easily get in the top 10 on iTunes", but now it's Wednesday, and Lawson still haven't dropped a place yet. :drama:

Great to see Dappy top 10 in the albums! :o He'll probably drop out at the end of the week though. We're incredibly lucky that he even released an album, since he originally only wanted to release it after getting 4 #1 hits. I think his record label must've given up.

Midweek Charts: Labrinth leading singles

Source: MW

by Paul Willams

An X Factor performance looks like delivering Labrinth a first UK No 1 single as Taylor Swift readies her first albums chart-topper.

Labrinth's Syco-issued Beneath Your Beautiful, which features Emeli Sande, has moved 85-1 on the midweeks with a lead at this stage of around 14,000 units, according to the Official Charts Company. His album Electronic Earth climbs 110-12 in the artist albums midweeks with weekly sales up 766%.

The track's rapid commercial improvement follows him performing it on the X Factor results show last Sunday, while the ITV1 programme is also helping RCA act and one-time X Factor runners-up JLS with their newly-released single Hottest Girl In The World. It presently registers as a new entry at 3 in the midweeks, a place below Virgin act Swedish House Mafia whose Don't You Worry Child featuring John Martin holds its position of 2 secured last weekend.

As well as featuring on Labrinth's new hit, Sande also crops up with Naughty Boy on the Virgin-issued Wonder. She performed this on Jonathan Ross's ITV1 chat show last Saturday and it shows up as a new entry at 10 on the midweeks, while weekly sales of her Virgin album Our Version Of Events have nearly tripled to move it 9-2. Ahead of it is Red, the brand new album from Mercury's Taylor Swift who appears poised to top the UK artist albums chart for the first time. Her current UK peak is 5, achieved by Fearless in 2008.

Global Talent/Polydor's Lawson follow a third Top 10 single achieved last week with their first album Chapman Square new at 3 in the latest midweeks where it is joined in the Top 10 by brand new albums from Dappy and Stone Sour with former Genesis man Steve Hackett just outside.

Dappy's debut AATW/Island album Bad Intentions is at 6, while Iowa rock band Stone Sour's Roadrunner set Houses Of Hold & Bones - Part 1 is 7. It is their fourth album and follows their first UK Top 10 hit Audio Secrecy, which reached No 6 in 2010. Hackett is 11 with the Inside Out-issued Genesis Revisted II, which could become his highest-charting solo album yet in the UK. His current peak is 16, achieved by Highly Strung in 1982.

Having debuted at No 1 last Sunday, Jake Bugg's self-titled Mercury debut is down to 4 in the new chart week, while Gentlemen Of The Road/Island's Mumford & Sons fall 2-5 with Babel. Syco act Leona Lewis's third album Glassheart drops 3-8 as Muse's Helium 3/Warner Bros-issued The 2nd Law falls 4-9 and Rebecca Ferguson's RCA debut Heaven 5-10.

Folk singer Kate Rusby is on course to hit a new UK chart peak with her Island debut 20 new at 15 in the week to date. Her current UK chart peak is Awkward Annie, which reached 32 in 2007. Also set to enter in or around the Top 40 on Sunday are new albums from DMG TV's Daniel O'Donnell and Deaf Havana via Easy Life/BMG Rights and a return for Peter Gabriel's 1986 set So on Real World.

After debuting at No 1 on the singles chart last weekend, the Columbia pairing of Calvin Harris and Florence Welch with Sweet Nothing is down to 4 in the week so far, while Def Jam/Mercury's Rihanna drops 4-5 with Diamonds. Island's PSY loses three places to appear at No 6 with Gangnam Style, while Adele's XL-issued Bond theme Skyfall drops 5-7 in the week the movie hits UK screens. Above Naughty Boy and Emeli Sande. A&M/Octone/Polydor's Maroon 5 hold at 8 with One More Night and Taylor Swift's We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together slips 7-9.

Virgin-signed south London band Bastille are heading for their first Top 75 hit with Flaws new at 14 in the midweeks, while Decca act The Lumineers rise 45-23 with Ho Hey following its use in a TV ad.

Hold the post!!! The Killers are on the final of the Xfactor? f*** yessssss!!!

Sorry but I'm afraid it's an untrue rumour! The band management have confirmed they will not be appearing. In regards to sales its a shame, could have pushed Battle Born to eventually double Platinum. But on the other hand this way they really do have their integrity as a rock band in tact, for some appearing on the X Factor would have been a step too far, like how so many proper Coldplay fans have come to regard the MX era. BB will still go Platinum... hopefully one day 2x!

Taylor confirmed as #1 album and so pleased that SHM have managed #28 with 'Save The World'
Ah, 'Ho Hey' is on an advert - that explains that then! Quite good on first listen.
11-20

14 Bastille

:o Was expecting this to be around #23 today - Really hope they can manage to stay Top 15 though!

How on earth are Bastille #14?! That's brilliant for them, but they haven't even gone Top 20 on iTunes yet and as far as I can see there's no physical, so how can they be that high, it doesn't make sense
11-20

11 Steve Labrinth

'Labrinth' is clearly a more common name than I thought :kink:

(Also, *Rusby *Lumineers *Gabriel )

Their EP makes up the difference. It's now dropped to the low top 20 but it was as high as #2 on release. Amazing to see them doing so well, really hope they can hold onto the top 20.

Mistakes do creep in, when I'm multitasking

Leona still managing to hang on at #8 in the albums and 'Trouble' only just outside of the Top 20 - Was expecting them both to be lower today

MW mid report with the update, no official sales for Taylor Swift's album, have to go with the other sales that has been given from the other source, if its correct or not.

Would love to see Labrinth’s Electronic Earth or Paloma Faith’s Fall to Grace return to the Top 10! I was right about all the large falls due to lots of high new entries – Ellie Goulding having a big third week fall after a reasonably small second week fall, and Maroon 5’s fall is quite surprising since One More Night is increasing in airplay. Hopefully most of the current big fallers will climb a little come Sunday.

Leona Lewis hasn’t had as big of a fall that I expected – the solo album version seems to be helping it a lot. Save the World will certainly be able to be a re-entry for Sunday! :D

Hoping Leona can stay top 10 with Glassheart. Could be a lot worse Bat For Lashes down a huge 23 places and this is just the chart update could be even more by Sunday. :o

Also quite a few new releases this week!

Quite astonishing that an XF ballad performance only got Labrinth's album back to #11 (or #12). You'd think he'd at least have went top ten again.

Quite baffled at his lack of success. I'm guessing 'Earthquake' has pretty much overshadowed everything else he's released since.

I'm not baffled by the lack of success for Labrinth, he just isnt an album-selling artist, I cant see him ever having a hugely successful album tbh, he's not that kind of artist. Amazing lead for him at #1 on singles chart though :o with the massive help from Emeli Sande!
