Something to do on a Sunday. Follow the link to play a quiz I just made. Simply look at a lyric taken from a song in the top 40 and match it up with the appropriate song. Some are easier than others B-)

I got 16 right, but I found the lyrics really vague and quite a few I just guessed at!

Harder than expected - 27/40 (missed Diamonds, Never Tear Us Apart, Spectrum (:drama:), Flaws, Latch (:drama: [2]), Titanium (mistook the lyric for SW(FTP), easy mistake to make :P), Va Va Voom, Turn Around (mistook for LMLY(UYLTLY)), Trouble, You Bring Me Joy, Ho Hey, Live While We're Young and One More Night).

 

I somehow got Lawson despite not recognising the lyric at all, it just sounded exactly like the sort of lyrics a Lawson song WOULD have :lol:

Well I did rubbish, 11/40 and then Nicki Minaj & Jake Bugg were pure guesses. Missed One Direction too. :(

I got 7 out of 40. I haven't really heard some of the songs though, and there's a lot I've only heard once or twice before. The only song I know off by heart is Clique (and I guess Million Voices aswell :lol:).

14 right and Turn Around wasn't one of them so I'm quite annoyed. :lol:

And shocked to see 'Clique' is one of the only 4 songs so far that 100% of people have got considering how many lines there are in the song and that one not even being one of the more memorable ones.

It is no longer on 100% :( I count 3 songs there (Million Voices, Gangnam Style and She Wolf). Clique and Beauty and a Beat are on 90%

 

I would've thought Spectrum and Little Talks would score higher than 50% :o

I got 31! I missed Flaws, I Will Wait, Ho Hey, Latch, I Cry, Standing In The Dark, Sweet Nothing, Don't You Worry Child, Some Nights and Little Talks.

14. Got Bastille on a lucky guess and the rest were fine (She Wolf, Gangnam Style, Good Time, Million Voices, Titanium, Wings, BYB, LMLY (UYLTLY), Some Nights, Skyfall, Little Talks, DYWC and I Cry). I was a little annoyed I missed Diamonds and You Bring Me Joy, but quite proud I recognised I Cry straight off. (very surprised at how low Don't You Worry Child is at the moment, always thought that was one of the more memorable lines)

I got 7 :(

I recognised 'I Cry' instantly because that lyric sticks out as being a little bit offensive / in poor taste. I'm sure he didn't mean it like that but it comes across as him having no sympathy for all the people who were killed that day.

1 out of 40 and that was Leona's "Trouble". I haven't been paying much attention to the top 40 though recently. But that is still terrible :lol:

I didn't even get the Ellie Goulding or Taylor Swift ones. :(

 

The only one I got was David G's 'She Wolf'.

 

If only you'd have done a 'match the sales figure to the song' quiz... ;)

Oooh I'm going to give this a go now. Sporcle used to be the way I passed my days at work. What a great site.

 

EDIT: 25. However, a lot of them were blind guesses and I did run out of time, so if I'd got my finger out I might have been able to guess some more he he. Good quiz. Hard though.

Quite a lot were guesses, but most of them were educated. The one about CIA couldn't have been anything other than Clique really, could it?
