Album sales wise they seem to be on the low side for this time of the year, I was expecting Rod Stewart at least Top 4 after his TV show last Sunday, dropped down to 7, I'm surprised how well Emeli's album is holding up that well among the new releases. Definitely going to pick up the Brit award for the best album next Feb plus best British female artist, should walk away with 2 Brits for sure.

Yeah the top ends been terrible for the time of year, but most of the top 5/10 should see sales increases. Rod is falling but his sales are up from last weeks 63k, should do around 70k in 7th place! :D

McFly are holding on quiet well in the top 40 and will build up sales probably as good as some of their number 1 hits. In the album chart, Kylie Minogue is still sitting nicely in the top 25 and i am believing she is safe for a top 30 position this week. Calvin Harris is definitely having a better chart run with this current album in comparison to his previous release, 12 months will easily become his best selling album. I am quiet delirious to see Olly Murs now ahead of Michael Buble, i again believe Olly should make it 3 weeks in a row shifting 100,000 + sales.

Its looking like James Arthur wont be number 1 now on Sunday as he is only 300,000 ahead, its far to close to just say it will be number 1 now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Hopefully Kelly Clarkson manages to remain top 20 this week, it was a shame she performed Breakaway, I'm sure she would have had a greater effect had she performed Catch My Breath/Because Of You.

Outch at this Girl Aloud's under performance! Three weeks top 40, it's not good in the slightest taking into account the amount of hype/airplay.

Bruno Mars only just hitting 100k? :( Was expecting big things from this. Seems Olly Murs won't pass 100k this week if Michael Buble, who was ahead of him, was 22k behind Bruno on Wednesday. Sorry, Bre, he won't be selling 100k for 4 weeks like his other albums or whatever it was! :P

Yay at Kylie still #25! :D

'Anything Could Happen' back in the top 40 :D I really hope it has a chance of outselling 'Live While We're Young', not sure how far behind it is now but apart from the first 2 weeks and one other week she's always been ahead (although 1D were a long way ahead in the first week so a big deficit to make up). Would love to see 'Figure 8' scraping top 40 this week as well.

Yay at Wizzard top 30 and The Pogues back in the top 20 again after dropping to #21 by Wednesday (and Mariah falling from Wednesday as well :D) Are Slade still top 40? Band Aid probably dropped out.

Did not expect Olly's album to overtake Bublé, it'll probably fall behind again by the weekend but at least it should be comfortably ahead of Emeli now.

Erm, Olly has overtaken Bublé :P This update just made me more sure that he'll do 100k again.

I know, I was hoping I had edited in time before anyone would notice! :P

I'm surprised Can't Get You Out Of My Head hasn't gone Top 100 after Kylie's X Factor performance, I was expecting it to do something at least. Or is it one of those albums that doesn't let you cherry pick individual tracks?

No, the versions of Flower and On a Night Like This that are in the Top 1500 are both the Abbey Road versions, and upon album release, lot's of the songs on the album charted on iTunes.

Yep, those singles have already sold loads... its the albums she is trying to sell. Hoping Better The Devil catches people next week but won't be shown on tv until Friday night so not going to make as much impact next week, fingers crossed enought to keep Kylie top 40 for Xmas! I would love Never Too Late to be performed in January on some show and then of course the new version of All Te Lovers right in time for Valentines Day!!!!!

So 124k in last 2 days for James Arthur presumably including his physicals. He is slowing despite the CD from Tuesday's sales averaging 62k daily for the past 2. He should comfortably beat Matt and Joe's sales but I think Leona is safe! It'll be touch and go if he clears the half mil, be hoping for big Saturday physicals I'm guessing. Wonder how high ytd he can manage?
Well, they had plenty of James' Cd single in my local Sainsburys on Wednesday-all gone by last night.

Flip side is if they underestimated demand and people struggle to get it this week (If they had none left already no one can buy til they get in more) - CDSs not usually that popular now...

So Top 1500 is "loads"?

Oh dear :P

I can only hope Live Lounge, Graham Norton and Amazon selling the album for £4.97 will help Girls Aloud over the next 2 weeks.

Girls Aloud have got their TV show tonight, that should give them a major boost up surely.

I bought James cd single today for my daughter, dont know if this is happening in the uk, but the price is of cd single is varyingl i looked in 3 shops and the prices were €3.99, €5.00 and €5.99. Obviously i went for the shop selling it at 3.99 (Xtra vision), i just assumed it would be sold for the same price everywhere.

This is a reason I think the proportion of sales due to charity has been underestimated here - not many people would pay the above price if they just wanted the song, since they could download it it for a quarter of the above price...
