December 14, 201213 yr Thought 'Stay' would be higher today. Should end up at #4 or #5 on Sunday I guess.
December 14, 201213 yr So wait Olly is only 1,400 sales behind Bruno now in the albums; yet on Wednesday there was a 22k gap between them WTAF!! :o
December 14, 201213 yr PLEASE NOTE: THERE WILL BE NO MID THREAD THE WEEK OF 24TH DECEMBER 2012. Does this mean Music Week aren't providing one, or that no-one here will be available to post one?
December 14, 201213 yr The article means that Olly is 1,400 ahead of Michael Buble at #3, not that he's 1,400 behind Bruno. God knows how far behind the chasing pack are, it doesn't mention it! Impressive for James Arthur, should get close to or around the 500k mark! 150-200k next week maybe but I'm sure Justice Collective can eclipse that! Had he held back a week as X Factor winners used to, it would have been a really mammoth battle :o

Had he held back a week as X Factor winners used to, it would have been a really mammoth battle :o I think if they did hold back until this Sunday to release it, the effect of X-Factor would have worn off and it probably would've only sold around 300k for the week; whereas at the moment it could eclipse the 500k mark (only needs 120k sales in its last 48 hours). :yahoo: Edited December 14, 201213 yr by mack25

December 14, 201213 yr I assume will.i.am/Britney is around 50k, so about 65k is possible for the week? Edited December 14, 201213 yr by MrGaGa
December 14, 201213 yr Author Does this mean Music Week aren't providing one, or that no-one here will be available to post one? MW won't be providing one for that week. The article means that Olly is 1,400 ahead of Michael Buble at #3, not that he's 1,400 behind Bruno. God knows how far behind the chasing pack are, it doesn't mention it! It took me a few reads to understand what the writer was saying.
December 14, 201213 yr I assume will.i.am/Britney is around 50k, so about 65k is possible for the week? They had 55k by the Wednesday update, so hopefully rather more than that!
December 14, 201213 yr Author Album sales wise they seem to be on the low side for this time of the year, I was expecting Rod Stewart at least Top 4 after his TV show last Sunday, dropped down to 7, I'm surprised how well Emeli's album is holding up that well among the new releases. Definitely going to pick up the Brit award for the best album next Feb plus best British female artist, should walk away with 2 Brits for sure.
December 14, 201213 yr Thought Rod Stewart might have sneaked into the Top 40 with his Christmas single - We have shifted quite a few copies of the physical at work and it was around the #60 mark on iTunes - I'm sure he will go Top 75 though which will be his first charting single since 2001.
December 14, 201213 yr They had 55k by the Wednesday update, so hopefully rather more than that! The report said 'more than 200,000 sales behind' so it was definetly sub 54,000. Given it wasn't that far ahead of Bruno Mars on iTunes who only sold 56,000 last week at #2, I would have thought it was a fair bit below 54k. Unless pre-orders have made a big difference?
December 14, 201213 yr They had 55k by the Wednesday update, so hopefully rather more than that! The article says Arthur is over 300k ahead of the no2 so i assume Britney/Will are on around 75k?

Yeah hopefully top 75 at least - its one of those songs that has been done so often before maybe thats why its not doing as well. He also has went to radio with the single Merry Christmas Baby which is different from the single so that hasnt helped!! Seen the single in Belfast' hmv, its actually been the most noticable single cd ive seen there in a while, must have sent out quite a few. Hmv belfast doesnt have a single stand at all anymore.
