It brings to mind "Evita" I think it depends on who sings on the tracks. If the same actual muscians are the same then it can qualify regardless of the vocalist.

I think a Various Artists of completely new material (such as this soundtrack) has always been allowed to chart on the main chart as opposed to the Compilation chart

Guess it depends on how the record company had it registered. I always get confused when soundtracks get into the main chart (Like the Titanic soundtrack - though most songs were by James Horner). I suppose most of the songs are credited to the Cast Of.... so they get away with it?

'Stay' is too boring for my liking. :( I was hoping this would do a 'You And I (Lady Gaga)' and flop because of its boringness but of course it's Rihanna so it wasn't going to... Please release Pour It Up, Jump or Right Now after this!

Yeah all songs are performed by the cast, but I'm pretty sure same could have been said for The Mamma Mia soundtrack but that only charted on compilations I think

Stay isn't my cup of tea. Not too bad and Ekko's voice is quite good. A bit boring though.

So a video is definately coming for this! Hopefully for the start of Feb release then a Brit Awards performance at the end of Feb.

Impossible!!!! I'm seeing a nice chart run for this overall, definitely holding up better than some other winner's singles :D

Stay is such a beautiful song - I should know to expect this from Rihanna ballads but still, excellent to see it repeaking.

 

Taylor top 2, yay, I didn't expect her to beat James Arthur.

This part of the show needs to also be on the CBBC Channel on TV.
