So no nom for Pink either. Oh well I only have a vague interest in the Killers and Mumford & Sons getting awards. If the list of performees is dire, than I shan't watch at all.

How on Earth can Amy Winehouse be eligible? Last year she appeared on Nas' Cherry Wine and a live album was released - both doing nothing in the charts. I love Amy and her music, but honestly it can't be right!
Who's Cat Power? Sorry if I'm being ignorant but how is she there, over P!nk? Weird. I know the BRITS have never been about the success, hence BFL yearly nod in "Best British Female", but at least I and others had heard of BFL

The only time I ever hear of Cat Power is when she's nominated in the Brits.

First time I think that they've got it pretty much spot on for the "Best British Single" award.

Adele will probs win though. Hoping that Rudimental can somehow storm to victory though.

The ones in bold who I THINK will win and the ones in italics are the ones I WANT to win. Wouldn't mind Paloma Faith winning one of the awards she's been nominated for either.

Edited by liamk97

Leona Lewis overlooked. :( Expected, but still so disapointed with that. Before Glassheart was released I thought 2013 would finally be her year to win. I'd say maybe next year, but doubt she'll have a new album out in time to be recognised for 2014 either. :|

Calvin Harris for Best Male.

Emeli Sande for Best Female.

Ben Howard for British Breakthrough.

Mumford & Sons for British Group.

Coldplay for British Live Act.

Adele's 'Skyfall' for British Single.

Emeli's 'OVOE' for British Album.

Frank Ocean for International Male.

Rihanna for International Female.

The Killers for International Group.

:D

I get less and less excited about this every year :( that's a fairly good set of nominations, potential for surprises as well, hopefully this year won't be as predictable as the last.

Anyway Thinks in bold/wants in italics:

British Male Solo Artist (Could see Ben Howard potentially being a dark horse here, in fact, after reading that he's performing, edited :P )

Ben Howard

Calvin Harris

Olly Murs

Plan B

Richard Hawley

British Female Solo Artist (Total WTF at Amy Winehouse, complete waste of a slot. Would love for Jessie or Paloma to surprise like Laura did, but its not gonna happen)

Amy Winehouse

Bat For Lashes

Emeli Sande

Jessie Ware

Paloma Faith

British Breakthrough Act (This is public voted right? I can't imagine the other nominees are well known enough :( )

Alt-J

Ben Howard

Jake Bugg

Jessie Ware

Rita Ora

British Group (If Muse couldn't win it in 2009, they sure as hell don't deserve it this year)

Alt-J

Mumford & Sons

Muse

One Direction

The XX

British Live Act (What an AMAZING category  )

Coldplay

Mumford & Sons

Muse

The Rolling Stones

The Vaccines

British Single (Hmmm, with no big boyband, this is much more wide open than normal)

Adele - "Skyfall"

Alex Clare - "Too Close"

Emeli Sandé - "Next to Me"

International Female Solo Artist (Cat Power?! Clearly they were lost for a last place. Think Taylor might just sneak this, but everything crossed for Lana.)

Alicia Keys

Cat Power

Lana Del Rey

Rihanna

Taylor Swift

International Group (Yeah, only two songs, but I don't know the first two, and the last two have been on poor form this year)

Alabama Shakes

The Black Keys

fun.

The Killers

The Script

These BRITs seem like they could be better than last year's (not difficult), the performers seem more interesting and most of the nominations are pretty on point bar the occasional anomaly (Winehouse / Cat Power). Surprised 1D haven't been nominated for best British single, sadly could see James winning that because it's always just a contest of the act with the biggest fanbase isn't it :(

RED: Who I think.

BLUE: Who I want.

PURPLE: BOTH.

British Male Solo Artist

Ben Howard

Calvin Harris

NOTE: I think this is where the "upset" will occur. Ben will walk away with this I reckon.

Amy Winehouse

Bat For Lashes

Emeli Sande

Jessie Ware

Paloma Faith

NOTE: Surely they're not going to snub her?

British Breakthrough Act

Alt-J

Ben Howard

Jake Bugg

NOTE: POOR. BRAVE. RITA. I was stuck between Jake and Ben for this one. But just 'coz he's from Nottingham, I'm going with Jake :P

British Group

Alt-J

Mumford & Sons

Muse

One Direction

The XX

NOTE: The XX are the underdogs. I think they'll be the ones to win if Mumford don't...

British Live Act

Coldplay

Mumford & Sons

Muse

The Rolling Stones

The Vaccines

NOTE: Any of these, bar The Vaccines, could realistically win.

Rizzle Kicks - "Mama Do the Hump"

Robbie Williams - "Candy"

Rudimental ft. John Newman - "Feel the Love"

NOTE: I get the feeling Adele will get this. But like I said earlier, personal opinions of the tracks to one side, I think it's the most perfect list we could possibly get.

MasterCard British Album

Alt-J - An Awesome Wave

Emeli Sandé - Our Version of Events

Mumford & Sons - Babel

Gotye

Jack White

Michael Bublé

NOTE: I'd have thought this would be an easy victory for Frank...

International Female Solo Artist

Taylor Swift

NOTE: Could go to either LDR, Rihanna or Taylor. But I'm going to remain optimistic and say RiRi will win, again.

The Black Keys

fun.

The Killers

NOTE: Between The Black Keys & fun., the others don't stand a chance.

I've doomed them all.

A shame Swedish House Mafia aren't up for international group... Excellent to see Jessie Ware nominated for breakthrough award and nice for Ben Howard to get two too, real chance of winning at least one of them. Deserved nom for Hawley too.

Absolutely great list for British Breakthrough Act.

Jake is great

Jessie is great.

Alt-J are really interesting guys.

Ben has a good potential

Rita Ora...I almost don't know her records at all but she's popular already...so really interesting nomination.

British Single

Great list.

Yes, I'm fan of him and I'd like to see a new Robbie's win so I'm not so objective but I think he has a chance to win for 2 reasons:

1) He will perform at the show. You know, usually performers get awards, it's not a secret.

2) New design of award reminds me Candy's cover. LOL

But for more objectivity I'd say single of Labrinth feat.Sande is the best in this list. That's ironically they both faced in chart 2 month ago :)

By the way, he said to vote for Olly in Best Male =)

"Really chuffed that Candy has made it into the Best Single nominations at this year's BRITs," Robbie said of news. "I've been coming to the show for so long, it's great at this point to have a song recognised from Take The Crown. I'll be there on the night, it's always fun. As for Best Male, you gotta vote Olly Murs - my tour mate".

But the problem is Richard Hawley. His album was one of my favourites of 2012 so I'm going to vote for him even if nobody vote for him =))

British Single and British Breakthrough Act. Historically, British Live Act also was, but that may have changed this year as it's not been awarded since 2009.
