February 27, 201313 yr MW mid report added with the update, thanks Liam97 It's alright. ;) If Justin Timberlake is number one with a 2k lead, I think he'll be number one on Sunday - I think Bastille will slow down towards the end of the week so JT will just extend his lead.
February 27, 201313 yr I really wish Music Week would hire a proofreader, their midweek reports are always full of spelling mistakes, incorrect titles and factual inaccuracies. The most egregious this week being calling Bastille's last single 'Bad Flaws' (a mashup of 'Bad Blood' and 'Flaws'?) and crediting 'Both Sides Now' to the wrong Michael. Very pleased to see Justin Timberlake heading for #1  I think the 2k lead will stretch now that Bastille don't seem to be making any major progress on him and their EP has dropped a bit. 'Mirrors' will be the second brilliant #1 of the year, after 'Thrift Shop', but the only other #1 of the year so far I even like is 'Get Up (Rattle)'. Much bigger highs than the #1s list at this stage last year but also far more shite. #25 for 'Green Garden' at this stage is not too awful considering it was that high on iTunes for all of a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Hopefully she's not in danger of dropping out of the top 40. Yay for Drake and Foals still hanging onto the top 40 although I think the latter will drop out by Sunday. Was expecting Atoms For Peace to be #1 in the mids today, they're not too far behind so they might have been there yesterday but then they're only 'a few hundred' ahead of Mumford & Sons so they'll be down to at least #3 if not lower by Friday's update. Probably going to miss the top 5. On the upside, Ben Howard to climb another place into the top 3! :D Good to see 5 new entries in the top 10 albums. A couple of them will probably drop out, although Josh Groban and Michael Ball seem like the types that might climb over the week. Was not expecting to ever see Glee in the top 40 again even midweek. March 10th (Mother's Day), those two artists probably will sell a few between now and March 10th :P
February 27, 201313 yr Yes Justin  Very pleased to be proven wrong with Bastille not being number 1. I don't hate the Bastille song, 'Mirrors' is just my favourite song of the year so far, so obviously I'd love that to trounce it. Hopefully it'll extend it's lead over the next few days from over 2k! Eek. Justin coming for that second solo #1!

February 27, 201313 yr Just to correct you all, Pompeii is actually one of the songs of the year. Justin could NEVA
February 27, 201313 yr Just to correct you all, Pompeii is actually one of the songs of the year. Justin could NEVA 'Pompeii' may or may not be one of the best songs of the year as well but 'Mirrors' is definitely rapidly climbing up there. (Don't think it quite tops James Blake's 'Retrograde' yet though).

February 27, 201313 yr Maybe Bastille can can catch up and snatch the #1 afterall? IN MY DREAMS They might hold onto #2 though Edited February 27, 201313 yr by SevenSeize

Totally agree I thought for a minute bubles new album had been given a download release or something because I knew his new single premiered this week lol. Agree also about this years no1s they haven't been great theres been no enduring symbolic hit in the vane of gotye, call me maybe or we are young that has sold loads.the biggest hit has been thrift shop but even that hasn't sold a massive amount in fact only enough to stay at no1 for one week (even with some bad luck) probably because its not as accessible as STIUTK.so at a time of the year when we have a lot of climbing oa/os mega hits we have had a lot of one week chart toppers which will only continue as we enter the summer months and he big artists set themselves up for the Xmas market!!
February 28, 201313 yr Im glad JT is finally getting a number one single, but i dont think mirrors is that amazing.... http://www.millorant-inca.com
