Loads of people getting hits this year aren't typically attractive... Sure we have Olly Murs, Robin Thicke The Saturdays, Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato and Mariah Carey who are very attractive and that is part of their appeal, but then we have the likes of Sam Smith, John Newman, Ed Sheeran etc. who aren't typically good looking popstars but they still sell. Music isn't just about sex anymore, anywhere near as much as it used to be.

 

 

I'm a Sats fan myself but there's no need to resort to looks as a defense mechanism just because John Newman is top 10 and The Sats aren't.
