This pretty much just shows how fickle the public are/how quickly irrelevant artists can become. Diana, SFG and Roll Deep had success in 2010 (not exactly "huge" but decent sized hits) and three years later they're struggling to even go top 40 with their comeback singles. Even Professor Green had a massive #1 only 18 months ago and he's struggling, too. Charlie Brown's song is alright but not interesting enough and I doubt it's getting Capital airplay this time around.

The public aren't fickle, it's the radio and TV who are fickle. None of those songs have much support AT ALL. Professor Green has had the most support but even then it's not doing that great on TV airplay and it's only been C-listed by Radio 1 with commercial radio stations hardly playing it.

The fact that Diana has had basically no airplay and is currently higher than Scouting For Girls (Radio 2 A-List), Professor Green (Radio 1 C-List) and Nina Nesbitt (Radio 1 B-List) is quite incredible I think! Definitely shows that Diana does still have a very decent-sized fanbase!
Nina Nesbitt is doing a session in the Radio 1 Live Lounge this afternoon so she could get a boost from that.

Diana will probably be out of the charts the quickest, though. I can see her charting at like #38 and then being out of the top 75 the next week whereas I can see Pro Green and SFG hanging around longer.

Yeah I think that is inevitable considering that the others do have radio airplay to keep sales more consistent. Diana will probably start falling by tomorrow, but to be the highest new entry at this stage is still a great achievement.

It's not a big deal, the general public aren't hearing those songs, it's not that they've "over" the artists. Roll Deep had years and years with no chart hits, and then they had two big hits selling over 200,000 in a year when they got the promotion.

I heard a Charlie Brown song with Misha B once, so maybe that might do something (i.e. go top 100 ) if it gets released.

One Direction's song will at least do well tomorrow.

I think that's the one released today

Oh.

Well, they should credit her, might get some extra sales lol.

I think her version is a remix or something and the one out now is just Charlie Brown but I'm not sure

I've seen On My Way charting in Australia and New Zealand, on a sort of related note. Just found it quite odd how a very front loaded song can cross over from the UK to Australasia, even if it was just a minor top 100 'hit'.

Even Radio 1 have been barely supporting 'Are You Getting Enough?' so not surprising at all to see it underperforming ( to #98 anyhow). It seems like an odd single choice, definitely his most inaccessible to date bar maybe 'Jungle' (which I'm surprised did anywhere near as well as it did). His next single is apparently another Emeli collab so I'm sure that'll return him to the R1 A-List and the top 10.

Has Scouting For Girls' new one been getting airplay anywhere or is it just fanbase buys? Can't remember if 'Summertime In The City' ever got as high as #54 on iTunes, IIRC it did get fairly high at first but plummeted.

How is Professor Green doing so badly this time around? It was less than two years ago when he launched his last era with a huge #1 smash! And I don't feel like he's massively dropped into irrelevance in the meantime so perhaps people just don't like this song at all...
The "song" is awful. I could only manage 1 listen and it was terrible. He's done better, but tbh I don't know why I'm surprised, I've only ever liked 'Read All About It' from him I think.

Scouting For Girls are on Radio 2's A-List.

Me too. The beat to Jungle was originally going to be for Wiley I think. I think it got discounted as well. I remember him saying at the time he wanted to release something more of his original sound for his fans.

I bet Charlie Brown and Misha B met at this event:

They didn't. Misha didn't show up because she was ill and Tich replaced her.

 40. Diana Vickers - Cinderella

:cheer:

New entries

 40. Diana Vickers - Cinderella

 51. Scouting for Girls - Millionaire

 90. Professor Green - Are You Getting Enough? (feat. Miles Kane)

 126. Nina Nesbitt - Way In the World

 256. Charlie Brown - Floodgates (Part 2)

 445. Roll Deep - All or Nothing (feat. Camille)

127. Demi Lovato - Made in the USA

193. Selena Gomez - Slow Down

Was expecting Diana to be higher tbh :kink: I may have overestimated her fanbase i guess

I think the 'surprise' this week is Scouting for Girls being close to the Top 50 (#51 now) Really didn't think anyone still cared about them after 'Summertime in the City' was such a major flop

I think I underestimated it, I didn't think it'd go top 40 on iTunes! I still think my prediction of #70 officially could be about right as she will drop very quickly either later tonight or tomorrow, I just hope the fall isn't as dramatic as it has been in Ireland!

Impressed Diana has made it to #40 [Technically #38 if you take away the double versions of Daft Punk and Robin Thicke]

Then it would 'technically' be lower than #38 because lower songs are probably ahead combined. You can't just pick and choose what to combine :P
