There is nothing much out next week, so Avicii for a 3rd week, the week after could be all change with Tinie Temaph releasing, unless Avicii holds out for a 4th week.

You've forgotten that Miley Cyrus releases her new single that week. That'll easily go to #1, whether it stays there for a 2nd week or if Avicii returns to #1 is the question.

BTW, One Direction's physical single is still not available till next month, mind you physicals are doing practically nothing, but I guess most fans will want a physical version of the track to top up their collection. "Squeak".

Sadly, you've missed Miley Cyrus I have a feeling Tinie Tempah doesn't stand a chance but it be an easy 3 week run for Avicii which I'd be pleased with!

Hopefully by the time their physical is out Ellie Goulding should be number 1, ok maybe not but I can hope

The title is in a different context to that though.

But they knew that calling the song 'Best Song Ever' was going to make some people react like that regardless of the context. Even if they didn't mean it that way it's still an extremely arrogant title.

It's brilliant in terms of getting attention to the song though, surely? "Dance All Night" could've been the title but it'd be incredibly boring and generic, whereas I can't name another song called "Best Song Ever", and it's gonna make people interested in the song.

I was trying to blot that out of my head

The only additional attention they've got from having such a title is people moaning about how awful/cocky a title it is. Which might help them a bit admittedly (all publicity is good publicity etc.) but it still seems like a silly thing to do, if they want to outlast their core fans' short attention spans they need to earn themselves a little bit of credibility and calling a song 'Best Song Ever' is sure as hell not helping to do that.

(Plus I'm sure the Directioners would wet themselves over it just as much even if it was called 'Dance All Night' :P)

Obviously not given sales so far this week for a track with that level if hype

That was THE last negative comment I promise... :heehee:

I agree with Bre, they clearly titled the song 'Best Song Ever' as a publicity stunt.

One Direction could release 3 minutes of them yawning and their fans would still wet themselves over it :drama:

No-one denied it being for publicity... It's working in their favour though, getting people talking about them.

Anyway, it's great to see them at #2 :D Another top three hit for them is great to see.

I'm not hugely fond of "Trampoline" just yet but I'd be baffled if "We Can't Stop" beats it to #1.
It's still better than 'Live While We're Young' which had far more hype around it. Robin seems to be neck and neck on iTunes so maybe he'll push them down to #3 as per usual for them?

I'm not really a Directioner but I can't help but love this song, it's irresistibly catchy. (I shamelessly loved 'Kiss You' as well)

It is most definitely better than 'Live While We're Young' which was worse than usual for them. 'Best Song Ever' is certainly not the best song ever, but I think it is their best song ever. The title does sound very arrogant though, no question about that!

Aren't One Direction good physical sellers though? I mean, it did help 'One Thing' reach #9 which I don't think it would have managed since it was #26 the week before and #24 the week after.

Does 18k sound about right for Jahmene in the albums for Sunday's chart? That would be better than I was expecting.

Anything under 20k for the #1 is *not* good. :(

It will. WCS will definitely sell 100k+ first week at least

I wouldn't have predicted Miley Cyrus to get a #1 though, I just want to block it from my brain... 100k+ too many :(

Indeed, but for Jahmene it's much more than he deserves so is a great amount! :P

Many people wouldn't have predicted Daft Punk, Duke Dumont or Robin Thicke to score a #1 hit this year, but there you go. Consistently-selling single pre orders don't lie i'm afraid

Is Tinie Tempah's new single even available to pre-order on iTunes? Sadly, Miley Cyrus is heading for #1 when its released but hopefully it'll be a temporary blip and whatever knocks it off #1 will be another great UK #1 track.

Damn those pre orders :( :P

Selena is doing terrible on the album's chart :(
