Tomorrow we pivot to round 1 part 2, the arena. Only to swing back to round 1 part 1 next saturday.
I got a little sleepy there but from what I heard that was a great voice, she's definitely going to be the target of the 'image doesn't matter if you're young and beautiful inside' demographic. So predictable *sigh*.
Just wait until her album is out next March and you'll see a furious Mary Byrne down Tesco chucking all the copies in the bin.

To be fair, I think Sam's voice is much more versatile than Mary's. Imagine Mary trying to sing "Listen". She'd either struggle or have sing it in a much lower key.

Maloney on that Xtra Factor clip!

It was how Caroline said 'pop icons', as she hugged Jahmene and then walked out with Christopher Maloney and Melanie Masson flanking her

Oh true, but she is destined for the same fate all the same.

Ye, I agree. But I think her time will be more enjoyable than Mary's though. At least for me.

Oh my god, this """Sharon Osbourne lookalike""" coming onscreen to Buttons by Pussycat Dolls I actually can't deal

A decent episode on the whole. A little too Sharon centered at times, and her scripted bullshit got very tiring very quickly, but she wasn't quite as bad as I expected (live shows will be the real test I imagine).

None of the contestants really stood out. Euphoria Girls were probably my favourite, and even then only because of how much they stand out compared to the usual crop of bland boys with acoustic guitars. The last woman was obviously very good technically, but she's hardly going to do any better than someone like Melanie last year.

Verdict? Mrs. O was a delightful surprise! (Usually cannot stand her). Bringing auditions back to the room definitely worked so much better to their recent change of format - and then seeing the auditioned perform infront of an audience tomorrow proves to be a much better and more interesting concept than before.

So yeah, first time in years that I actually enjoyed an X-Factor episode.

On the whole I actually really enjoyed this!

I love that the bad acts were INSANELY hilariously bad

A few WHY did you put them through moments eg. that 'rock' guy and that AWFUL girl group.

My favourite was the younger girl out of the two that were split up.

Hannah is so doing a Misha B right now. Hopefully not as she's way better.

I CANNOT at all of those LOOK AT MY ACOUSTIC GUITAR I'M SO INDIE AND FRESH AND NEW AND EXCITING teenage boys. UGH NEXT

I'm really liking the idea of them focusing on a group of people each week, instead of just a whole bunch of people in the room on one weekend, then arena auditions at a later time.
