I'm really glad to see HAIM top 20. I did expect it after seeing their pre-orders in the week prior to release, but it's still nice to see. Curious that it's doing this well with Radio 1 only B-listing it so far, but that might say something about future longevity if it's moved to A-list this week. Album pre-order is doing well (#67 + #183), so I think all things considered this will be a successful album launch!

^ Eminem's pre-orders haven't been good enough for him to debut with over 100,000 imo. :(

 

Everyone's fascinated with preorders here if Eminem was released id buy it and a lot of others would not everyone will go and get a preorder & wait over a month for the song most will Just illegally download it.

 

All preorders do is make first week sales look a lot better and then the sales slump by 50% afterwards!

I can't believe how the UK release of Capital Cities has gone after its US success. :(

 

Why did Radio 1 ignore it? It's right up their street. I was hoping it'd get released at a later date and do an 'I Love It' or similar.

Glad to see 'Skyscraper' isn't doing any better than last week. Should miss the top 40 again. Huzzah.

That's true what you say, but that applies to every song, not just Eminem's song. There's still a strong correlation between first-week sales and the amount of pre-orders they get beforehand, and Eminem isn't getting very many compared to what Katy Perry and Jason Derulo did.

Skyscraper will hopefully re-peak sometime within this series. X Factor seem to be loving it .... I reckon it will be the winners single this year. Hopefully it doesn't get murdered in the same way Impossible does (I realise the majority prefer James Arthur's version oops).

Agreed with everything! It's a good shout for this years winner's single, but tbh I think that's what we thought last year :lol: Although, it has definitely been a lot more prominent this series.
Re. 'Skyscraper', I doubt they'll consider it after it was Union J's choice last year, and if the song with the same name is that on Union J's album, once it's available to hear, surely this will get another boost?

I'm wondering if the following songs have made it in the Top 1000 from the last 2 days of X Factor...
