October 20, 201312 yr Gym & Tonic! This was a cheap remake a Bob Sinclar track that everyone was hearing all over the clubs at the time thanks to the fact Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk / Stardust) was essentially credited with the track: zYhdZnpf-Wg Granted it's not that different but it is somehow a tiny bit less cheesy. Maybe. Due to clearance issues though the track remained a bonus track on Sinclar's album and Spacedust's track made it to #1. Not only did they rip off the Thomas Bangalter track but they pretty much ripped off his Stardust name too. What a shame Jane Fonda didn't allowed her voice to be used in an official release

October 20, 201312 yr 40 (from 36) London Grammar - Strong [D] http://a3.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music4/v4/79/55/b4/7955b4c1-eca0-c606-c800-85a253dc2261/5051823095549.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 17-16-18-23-36-36-40 [7 wks] Release date: 01-09-2013 Format: download only single Label: Metal & Dust Recordings Limited Sales: 70k+ Video here: 6drfp_3823I download track listing 1 Strong (Edit) 2 Strong (High Contrast Remix) 3 Strong (Hackman Remix) 4 Strong (Fracture Remix) 5 Feelings Biography English trio London Grammar combined sparse electronic pop in the model of the xx with dramatic, big-voiced lead singer Hannah Reid, whose vocals evoke contemporaries Florence Welch and Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes. Reid and guitarist Dan Rothman met in the dorms of Nottingham University where they began writing music together in 2009 and later added multi-instrumentalist Dot Major to complete the lineup. The following years saw them refine their sound with atmospheric electronics and subtle percussion and they often played to rooms of no more than ten people. Their popularity rose with the 2012 release of "Hey Now" which they uploaded to the internet and instantly found an online cult following. Their fans were not just in the U.K., but also on the other side of the world in Australia, where their self-released 2013 debut EP Metal & Dust reached the Top 5 of the iTunes chart. The same year they signed to Ministry of Sound and the single "Wasting My Young Years" appeared as the first release on the label. 2013 also saw them play a sold-out show at the Islington Assembly Hall and make an appearance at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2013 31 Wasting My Young Years -1- 2013 16 Strong -2- Album Discussion Here

October 20, 201312 yr 39 Don Broco - You Wanna Know [D] http://a4.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music/v4/86/e8/1d/86e81ddc-0275-1d80-3860-610099b83b03/886444164610.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 39 [1 wk] Release date: 13-10-2013 Format: download only single Label: Sony Music Video here: km0Byzc4UfM download track listing 1 You Wanna Know 2 You Wanna Know (Club Sex Mix) 3 You Know You Like It (AlunaGeorge Cover) 4 Here's the Thing (Acoustic) 5 Actors (Acoustic) Biography Alternative rock outfit Don Broco formed in Bedford, England in 2008. The four-piece met during their time at Bedford Modern School and after playing in various different bands, vocalist Rob Damiani began writing music with Simon Delaney (guitar), Matt Donnelly (drums/vocals), and Tom Doyle (bass). They made a tenuous start and managed to play a few shows before each member left for university. At this turning point, they made a pact to return after they graduated and concentrate on the band. Once they had finished university in 2009, they booked more shows across the country and played in Leeds, Birmingham, and Manchester. This exposure led them to prestigious appearances at Camden Crawl and Download festival before the end of the year, as well as a coveted support slot with post-hardcore outfit Enter Shikari. In 2010 they released the self-recorded single “Dreamboy” and continued their relentless touring schedule. During 2011, the band recorded and released the Big Fat Smile EP. The six-track mini-album was well-received by publications such as Kerrang and Rock Sound and started to garner a buzz among fans. Their boisterous, melodic rock scored them their first headline tour and a clutch of high-profile gigs with Deaf Havana and a host of festival appearances including Sonisphere, Slam Dunk, Hevy Festival, and a return to Download in 2011. Following continued support and their growing reputation, they signed a deal with Search & Destroy — a venture between Sony Music and Raw Power Management — in 2012. Their debut album, Priorities, was released a couple of months later with the bravado and confidence of a band with years of experience. Their influences are easily recognizable — with Lostprophets, Young Guns, and Funeral for a Friend all audible — but the full-length album allowed their dynamic songwriting to flourish. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2013 39 You Wanna Know -1- Discussion Thread Here

October 20, 201312 yr Oh Don Broco held on, fun. Such a random top 40 hit, their debut album got to the dizzy heights of #25 and spent one week in the chart and this is their first release since then and hasn't even had that much support  The singer's voice reminds me a bit of Everything Everything in parts - a little bit heavier than EE but really liking this on first listen! Don't think it's likely to hang around very much though :P
