The track just needs a subtle remix, to slightly speed up the first part of the song and to make the track flow more easily. The "Feed The World" second part of the track is fine as it is.
I question updating it at all. At the very least they should be trying out a new song. Last time they updated it with the current artists it was almost universally panned but at least the artists had something about them. This list looks horrifically bland.

The ...

There's a song called "Africa Stop Ebola" by Collectif Africa Stop Ebola.

The song is sung in a mix of French and some other languages, to raise awareness of Ebola.

I quite like the tune!

Or "heal the world" as it is in the new version :)

I think variations of "Feed the World", "Feel The World" and "Heal The World" are sung (or at least were on the lyrics sheet published on a number of media outlets on Saturday) but you're right, it's mainly "Heal The World".

So disappointing Jessie Ware never got a solo. :( She could easily have done Rita's first solo

Agreed! :(

The song is still growing, but it could have been SO much better. I'm really hoping this Disclosure remix is both true and good.

Afrer a few listens, I'm now really enjoying it. It's certainly FAR better than the Band Aid II version, probably about on par with the original. I love the Band Aid 20 version, so it'll have quite some way to go to overcome that!
Just heard Rita Ora's screech. Still not heard the whole things. One of my Year 11s was telling me she hates it but then she loves the Band Aid 20 version. I'll still wait to judge on hearing, but I can't imagine, with the artists involved, that it's any more than average.

Amazon are NOT displaying the Band Aid 30 track in the top 100 bestsellers nor the new release section of the site. It is present but only if you search for Band Aid 30.

A customer has already asked why the record is not on display.

I suspect that Bob mouthing off about iTunes and giving them all the 99p has upset the boss of Amazon.

That's unbelievably immoral of Amazon if true (which I highly doubt).

The CD single is charting on the Albums list so I can't imagine the error is any more then a glitch with counting a large number of sales.

Every Band Aid version seems to reflect the musical landscape of time in which it was made

Band Aid - HUGE stars, big sound and strong on personality. All hugely credible stars with distinctive voices (and Marilyn). Video shows more people turned up than could get a line to sing.

Band Aid II - SAW dominated and with all the soul sucked out of it. Plastic. Video is an exercise in 'oh I remember them'

Band Aid 20 - Po-faced, joyless, self important and lacking in any sense of energy or passion. Video has a few big names but too many we've already forgotten.

Band Aid 30 - Minimalist, big stars but no personality in their voices (except Guy Garvey, Seal and Bono). Unconvincing, over exaggerated 'emotion'. Music lacks any energy. Sounds like an X Factor contest.

I'll buy it, but if I never hear it again I won't miss it.

May have underestimated its performance doing fantastically well will be interesting to see its sales in the mid-weeks, wonder if it can be no.1 by tomorrow that would be an impressive feat.

Reckon this should hold onto the no.1 spot until xmas week and with a bit of luck take that week at no.1 as well from X-Factor, but something tells me Simon will probably donate money from the winners single to the cause as well, not that its a bad thing but I would rather this be no.1 at christmas than the usual cheap tacky cover version that is the winners single.

No I would suspect it is likely to be very true. Awful if so, but these are how these businesses work (mine is the same i.e. loves the competitors to fail/hates when they have good promo).

A comment from a customer of Amazon...

"From what we've seen from iTunes it's gone bonkers," Bob Geldorf told BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday. "Within four or five minutes we had a million quid."

Yet on Amazon Music at 9:30am - an hour and a half after the release - a search for "Band Aid" showed nothing. I At 2 pm It was nowhere in the top 100 songs or albums (updated hourly) nor did it appear on the New & Future Releases. About 2:30 pm if you search for "BandAid30" you can pre-order the CD. And if you search for "do they know its christmas" it will finally suggest an alternative search for do they know its christmas 2014".

Why are you hiding it?

Why don't you give ALL the revenue from sales of the song to the charity?

Is it because you don't like the trite lyrics or some fit of pique that iTunes are getting this free publicity?

Come on there are thousands of people dying out in West Africa and they need every bit of help.

However Amazon must have taken notice and corrected the error and so the record now sits on top of the Amazon chart!

I've heard it now and it's pretty diabolical. Just what is the attraction of Ellie Goulding? I mean, since it's so obvious she can't sing?

I actually much prefer the last one. Sure, I don't like the slowed melody but at least the artists involved were mostly likeable. Paloma being the only one on the new one I can actually stick.

I would be more likely to download the first 3 for charity than this one.

Completely agreed with my substitute, T Boy.

The song is tripe, diabolical tripe.

People should just donate the money direct to a charity set up by Geldolf rather than buy such earrape.

Is it flopping then??

0.7 means within 30% of the song!!
