The sadness - 9/10

great twist on a pandemic, very original, but warning you now guys..it is quite gory, quite intense! (Love it :D).

Days of thunder, really enjoyed this one, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, great soundtrack and driving scenes, 7/10 nice cast !!

Just started watching the latest Simon Reeves travel series. South America. 5 episodes all now on Iplayer. Always a good watch.

Triangle of Sadness is maybe my favourite film of the year. A satire of the rich that's really not subtle at all - I recommend going in blind as I did!

An unusual choice especially for Christmas Day but Some Like It Hot. Actually found it very funny for an very ancient film with Marilyn Monroe in it. No wonder it's held in such regard.

I've recorded all 8 Harry Potter movies and going through watching them all for the first time.

I've watched the first 2 so far and they're really good. Can't believe I didn't give these the time of day until now.

Ronin (1998) - Its been a while since I've watched this and I loved the car chases and seeing the cool 90s cars again. I found this movie on https://ww3.soap2day-online.com/ it is my favorite site with movies and tv shows online. There are movies and tv shows in all genres that are available 24/7 without any restrictions. I like that the collections of movies are structured, and I can use any filter to sort movies by genre, year of release, actor etc.

Watched Black To Black tonight

I didn't know much about Amy's life besides the songs and briefly her issues with the media. I enjoyed the movie but it's not something I'll rush to see again. It felt very gentle and down to earth for the most part

I posted my Q1 watch list in the cinema thread but I only had one cinema trip in Q2 so thought it might be more appropriate to post a Q2 list here :P

Cinema/streaming/physical media Q2 2024:

01. Spice World (1997)

02. Grave of the Fireflies (1988)

03. Eighth Grade (2018)

04. Back to Black (2024)

05. Slumdog Millionaire (2008)

06. My Neighbour Totoro (1988)

07. Chicago (2002)

08. Princess Mononoke (1997)

09. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

10. Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)

11. Anatomy of a Fall (2023)

12. Whisper of the Heart (1995)

Princess Mononoke was my favourite film I watched in that period <3 saw quite mixed discourse about Anatomy of a Fall on here but I enjoyed it. Still not over how good the dog's acting was tbh

Recently, I watched the whole Twilight Saga series (all five) on Disney+. The lore was kinda interesting. I would've liked more of that than the romance elements (which admittedly was the main focus of the movies). The series was a fun piece of film history even if they were far from perfect. The soundtracks were decent.
