I just find it funny that Enrique and Flo Rida are getting slated for releasing the "same songs over and over again" when the same could be said for practically any artist. Every artist has a genre they stick to. Kylie's latest single sounds like it could have been on any of her last few albums. Katy Perry has released singles that could easily have sat on Teenage Dream, Pink and Alicia Keys have been releasing the same sort of music since their debut, Ke$ha has released nothing but electropop, Britney's last single was a generic mess of a "song" and everyone lapped it up.

Male artists release pop/electropop/dance = generic (Enrique, Flo Rida, JLS, The Wanted, Jason Derulo, Pitbull, David Guetta, Dizzee Rascal, Wiley)

Female artists release pop/electropop/dance = fierce/amazing (Kylie, Britney, Katy, Ke$ha, Neon Jungle, Saturdays, Pink, GaGa)

Every single one of those artists has received both love and hate on here. You can't just focus on love for females and hate for males and pretend there's a double standard.
When Pink returned with BM most if the forum was moaning she never changes her sound....
It's not accurate at all. I don't know any girls like that. I think it's just either girls from the US or girls from the little towns in the countryside that act like that. Whoever it is, it's pathetic.

And I'm going out next Monday. It's not unusual (unless you live in the countryside again lol).

Turn Down For What's video is AWESOME!!!! :D

Trust me, it's accurate for some girls.

The most accurate parts are "it's only got 10 likes in 5 minutes, do you think I should take it down?" And "that guy was talking to that girl, do you think he was doing that to make me jealous?"

Seriously i know girls who say that sort of stuff ALL the time hahaha

Mr Probz is a dutch rapper, hip hop artist, and Robin Schulz (German DJ) made a remix of Waves that made the song famous.

Here's the original:

I wasn't aware he was a dutch rapper, let alone Waves is a remix version. -_-

116. Lily Allen - Our Time

I must say if I was Lily's label I'd be strongly reconsidering making this the single to launch the album.

Exactly.

Not Giving Up is criticised for being All Fired Up part 2, Work Bitch was for being generic and faceless, disappointment is often expressed at Ke$ha releasing the generic songs, Dark Horse is highly praised on here for being different to what we're used to from Katy.

The point is that Flo Rida and Enrique literally are releasing the sames songs over and over. How many more samples will Flo Rida use as the basis of his song while he raps over it with completely meaningless lyrics? How many times will Enrique sing about wanted to get with someone whilst at a party with a Pitbull feature?

Exactly.

Agree with this except that I thought Not giving up is actually complimented because it was like all fired up part 2

Exactly. This argument that Buzzjack loves all female acts no matter what they release and not the same for males has seemingly been going on for decades, and it's no more accurate that it ever was (not at all).

I've been emailed by itunes saying my preorder for 'I Got U' is available. Does this mean some sales will contribute to tomorrow's chart?
The snobbery on here regarding #Selfie is hilarious. You guys are the same people who went bonkers over Gangnam Style, Loca People and generic stuff like Calvin Harris and David Guetta amongst other dance songs. "Death of the charts" etc and dissing Enrique Iglesias and Flo Rida's new songs is hilarious considering you all went mental for Neon Jungle, Kylie Minogue and The Saturdays singles (even though I adore them :D) which are also as generic as they come.

All dance stuff follows the same formula. Fast, big beats with crappy lyrics and a dance breakdown. They're not supposed to be groundbreaking. It's not the best song ever but it's catchy and people clearly like it and think it's funny. Just because it's selling better than Pixie Lott and Kylie Minogue doesn't mean you all gotta be so vicious about it. It's just a song.

I do get what you're saying. Songs of the same genre are always going to be similar to an extent. But I really feel #Selfie is atrocious. From the whole promotion campaign, to the lyrics, to the beat. I just hate it. Gangnam Style, Loca People I appreciated due to the comedy factor in the songs, but I don't think Selfie is funny at all, it's just thriving off social networking gags, which I feel I really old. People have been taking "Selfies" for years. Maybe I'd have liked the song more if it came out in the Myspace era in the mid 00s.

Honestly, if Selfie had a better beat, I'd probably like it, since I'm one of those people that values beats over everything else, but I think Selfie has a terrible beat (sounds almost identical to PSY - Gentleman), and the lyrics and video just make it worse. There's some songs like We No Speak Americano and Miami 2 Ibiza which I love, but I just can't get Selfie.

I agree with your point overall though. I think the artist of the song can really sway people's opinions. I feel Lady Gaga's song are just as generic as Taio Cruz's songs, but she get sos much more acclaim. I think it's unfair, but honestly I'm probably guilty of the same thing. If Drake or Rudimental release a generic song I'll probably praise it no matter what lol.

Yikes. I hope not. But he'll probably get #1 anyway so it doesn't really matter. When Need U was out I thought Duke Dumont was guaranteed to be a one-hit wonder. Same with other people like Breach, I though Jack would be his only chart hit. I think Storm Queen is a definite one-hit wonder though. I was reading up about him, and it really seems like he has no intention of having another mainstream hit. I think MK could get another chart hit though, since I've been hearing other songs and remixes of his.

No.

This happens twice a year due to the clocks changing in the USA (where Apple servers are based I guess) at a different time than in the UK.

OK, thanks for explaining. Does this mean there is an extra hour of sales in this coming tracking week?

I'm not sure if it's this week but one week around this time has an extra hour of sales included, yes. I'm not sure exactly how it works but when the new releases come out an hour early they have never, to my knowledge, charted in the 'wrong' week due to 'losing an hour' of sales, even when they have massive pre-orders.

1. I Got U (feat. Jax Jones) - Duke Dumont

11. Word Up! - Little Mix

33. Kids Again (Radio Edit) - Example

45. Na Na - Trey Songz

64. Answerphone - Nicholas McDonald ()

+

68. Weapons - Hudson Taylor

89. MoonQuest - The Yogscast

Not sure if these are new releases or not.

If what Bre said is right about the clocks, Apple's sales week ended at 11pm tonight, because their computers think it's an hour ahead, so nothing after 11pm should be in tomorrow's charts.
