March 12, 201412 yr Don't give up hope yet, if/when she performs it on The Voice, it's bound to get a big boost... just a quick question .... does a pre-order for the album still count as a sale for ITB as well as it is still a free grat? that could do quite well as it should get quite a few sales during the weekend?! plus a few single purchases
March 12, 201412 yr Don't give up hope yet, if/when she performs it on The Voice, it's bound to get a big boost... That's weeks away, it'll be way down the chart by that point.
March 12, 201412 yr Today's 99p album is Bastille's 'All This Bad Blood', so I assume that'll help them climb back into the Top 5 in tomorrow's update! I doubt it will sell 30k. You have to assume 2-3k of that 16k is CD sales and they will barely sell anything now for the rest of the week. I'd say 26k by the end of the week and low top 15. It's just over 1k of physicals contributing to its midweek figure - presumably that's the CD and vinyl versions. I'm surprised she's even shifted that many, considering the CD costs £7.98 when factoring in postage and packaging. You'd have to be a really big Kylie fan to justify that cost. If it sells 26k then I'd have thought that would be enough to scrape Top 10, or at the very worst high Top 15 i.e. #11. Don't think the sales are so great this week that 26k would equate to low Top 15, but we'll see.
March 12, 201412 yr Pixie HAS to do some kind of promo or some kind of ACTUAL plug today She is holding to that #10 position for LIFE but is getting red updates since yesterday. She -HAS- to do something to at least climb a bit cause I think all her additional physical copies and the EP downloads are already counted and now it's only the GP purchase, not the fan ones.
March 12, 201412 yr Love the fact the have added the expanded/new version of Bastilles album to the Google Play/Amazon promotion - I have the original but purchased again for the 13 extra tracks for 99p, I'm hoping it will get a huge boost - Album sales should be healthy in the top end of the charts thanks to Elbow and Paloma and the promotion on Arctic Monkeys, Lorde and Bastille. March 12, 201412 yr Midweek Single Charts: DVBBS's Tsunami set to flood singles countdown DVBBS’s Tsunami (Jump) is heading to No 1 in the UK after becoming a huge hit across mainland Europe. The Canadian electronic music duo’s track with US DJ Borgeous and also featuring Tinie Tempah is currently outselling its nearest rival by 45% having sold nearly 50,000 copies by the end of Tuesday, according to the Official Charts Company. Tsunami (Jump) has already been a big sales hit across mainland Europe, topping the charts in territories including Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland, while it has reached No 3 in France and made the Top 20 in Germany. The Ministry of Sound track is one of five brand new entries in the latest midweek Top 10 with Enrique Iglesias, Flo Rida, Pixie Lott and Kylie Minogue all making their mark. Iglesias arrives courtesy of the Republic/Island track I’m A Freak featuring Pitbull. It is new at 3 in the week to date as it looks to become the Spaniard’s first Top 10 hit since 2010. Immediately below him Atlantic’s Flo Rida is aiming for an eighth Top 10 hit as the main artist with How I Feel new at 4, while EMI act Pixie Lott’s Nasty is new at 6 and Parlophone’s Kylie Minogue new at 7 with Into The Blue. Minogue’s last Top 10 hit was All The Lovers, which reached No 3 in 2010. Rinse/Virgin EMI’s Route 94 debuted at No 1 last Sunday with My Love featuring Jess Glynne and it now drops to No 2. Pharrell Williams’ former No 1, the RCA-handled Happy, slides 2-5 as Atlantic act Clean Bandit’s four-week chart-topper Rather Be also featuring Glynne is down 3-8 in the week so far. Virgin act Katy Perry drops 4-9 with Dark Horse featuring Juicy J, while Columbia act John Legend’s All Of Me falls 8-10. Christina Perri is poised for a third UK Top 40 hit with the Atlantic-issued Human new at 13, while New York-based DJ and production duo Chainsmokers are enjoying a tripling of sales of their Dim Mak/Island single Selfie to lift it 42-21. Other significant moves in the week to date include Syco act One Direction’s Midnight Memories single up 73-29 with sales rising 238% and sales of Positiva/PRMD act Avicii’s Addicted To You doubling on the week as it progresses 36-33. - Source: MW, by Paul Williams ~ Midweek Album Charts: Elbow album aiming for No 1 Landing Elbow have opened up a narrow lead over Paloma Faith as they look to achieve their first UK No 1 album. The group’s newly-issued Fiction/Polydyor set The Take Off And Landing Of Everything is presently around 6,500 copies ahead of RCA act Faith’s own brand new release A Perfect Contradiction at this stage of the week, according to the Official Charts Company. Elbow’s last album Build A Rocket Boys! reached No 2 in 2011 and is at the moment their highest-charting album to date. Faith has also climbed as high as No 2, achieved by her 2012 set Fall To Grace. Devon band Metronomy’s brand new album Love Letters is among the To 10 sellers on the latest midweek chart, debuting at No 5. It is easily on course to beat the Because Music signings’ current highest chart peak of 28, secured by 2011’s The English Riviera. Sales of the self-issued The Heist by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are up six-fold on the week to accelerate it up 74-8, while above it Virgin act Lorde’s Pure Heroine is heading back into the Top 10 with a 21-6 rise in the week to date and sales up 118%. Having achieved the highest weekly artist album sales of the year and debuting at No 1 last Sunday, Pharrell Williams’ RCA-handled G I R L drops to 3 in the week so far. However, Arctic Monkeys’ fifth Domino set AM is back up a place to 4 with sales rising 143%. Polydor act Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon drops 2-7 as London Grammar’s Metal & Dust/Ministry of Sound debut If You Wait falls a notch to 9 and Virgin act Bastille’s Bad Blood is down 3-10. Eight other brand new albums arrive in the Top 40 positions outside the Top 10, led by a UMTV Dr Hook compilation Timeless at No 12. The group last made the Top 20 with retrospective Hits And History in 2007. British metalcore band Architects are new at 13 with the Epitaph-issued Lost Forever/Lost Together as East Londoner Ghetts’ Rebel With A Cause on the Disrupt label starts at 17. Room 94’s debut No Strings Attached via the label Shipwreck arrives in 18th spot in the week to date, while one-time LIPA student Dan Croll’s Deram/Decca album Sweet Disarray is new at 19. Other entries within the Top 40 come from Play It Again Sam’s Joan As Police Woman, The Twang on Jump The Cut and Ronnie Lane & Slim Chance. The Island album Ooh La La – An Island Harvest is looking on course to be the first solo album to chart from Lane, who died in 1997, since 1974. - Source: MW, by Paul Williams =================================================== Wednesday Update Top 40 Only Source: Radio 1/OCC Top 40 Singles 1 DVBBS and Borgeous feat. March 12, 201412 yr One Direction at #29? :o Didn't think they'd be top 40, but I guess the EP sales are very high and they probably also have physical sales too.
March 12, 201412 yr Oh my god! What a fail of a competition. Three voice phone messages. As Jameela said: "This is INSANE"... Only fourth time lucky! How embarrassing!
March 12, 201412 yr Oh my god! What a fail of a competition. Three voice phone messages. As Jameela said: "This is INSANE"... Only fourth time lucky! How embarrassing! Should've tried me, I was waiting with my phone. I'm not aware of a physical for "Midnight Memories" btw so it's the EP doing all the work.
March 12, 201412 yr Kylie still at #7 isn't bad, if she can leapfrog Pixie Lott that'd be even better (nothing against Pixie btw, I'd rather she overtook Flo Rida and Enrique instead but that's just the way it goes :P)
March 12, 201412 yr Had Kylie definitely sold 16k in yesterday's midweeks - that would mean she only sold 1.5k on Tuesday which is a little shocking... Edited March 12, 201412 yr by iain
March 12, 201412 yr 8 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist :o Anyone know why the big climb? its mentioned a few pages back priced at 99p on google play
March 12, 201412 yr 8 Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - The Heist :o Anyone know why the big climb? It was one of those 99p promotion things. It's a shame it probably won't hold top 10 though. Hopefully still looking to possibly get a new peak (and beat its previous peak of #20).
