April 27, 201412 yr Told you that "Happy" would scrape in at #10. :D I actually called it last week :magic: Pharrell beating the 21st century record for weeks in the top 10, doing it in some style as a non-mover (and no lower than #7 in any of those weeks). *.* With the little onslaught of new entries next week I think this will be his last week but he could JUST sneak in at #10 again. Even called the uncertainty.
April 27, 201412 yr "German Whip" has clearly had an unexpected second week rise :P No, clearly Counting Stars has had a sudden physical release that nobody here noticed! ;)

April 27, 201412 yr Still not quite the ~SLAYAGE~ of Frankie Laine though ..-8-4-{1}-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-1-1-1-2-2-2-3-2-2-4-6-5-7-4-6-10 35 weeks Top 10. *.*
April 27, 201412 yr Happy is such a flop tbh, still top five in basically every other country :coffee:
April 27, 201412 yr Only the 4th record in the last 50 years to spend 20 weeks in the Top 10 (if I've got my query right!) Frankie Goes To Hollywood - "Relax" 22 weeks Bryan Adams - "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" 21 weeks Wet Wet Wet - "Love Is All Around" 20 weeks Before that you have go back to the Beatles' "She Loves You" from 1963 (21 weeks) and then back to the very early days from 1952-55 for all the rest
April 27, 201412 yr 20wks in the top 10 ~ what an amazing achievement! *.* Wonder if this kind of longevity will become the norm once streaming data is added to the chart?!

April 27, 201412 yr 09 06 06 Tove Lo Featuring Hippie Sabotage Stay High Truth Serum EP | 2014 http://a3.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music6/v4/c2/75/37/c275372c-a0dd-9e1e-44c9-17be8bee8ee5/14UMGIM00422.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 59-xx-47-33-12-6-9 Release date: 03-03-2014 Format: Digital EP Label: Universal Music AB Sales: 70k+ Video here: SYM-RJwSGQ8 Biography Swedish singer/songwriter Tove Lo was born Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson on October 29, 1987 in a suburb of Stockholm. Beginning to write poetry and short stories at a young age, she went on to study at the famous Rytmus Musikergymnasiet — a music-oriented high school comparable to the U.K.'s BRIT School — where she met and befriended the future members of Icona Pop. After singing in the band Tremblebee, made up of students from the school, and a spell playing one-man-and-his-dog nightclub gigs as frontwoman of a math rock band, she decided to focus on her own songs, spending six months in her shed studio working on a demo. Upon the occasion of a party celebrating Icona Pop's first record deal, she used the opportunity to foist the demo on a staff member at their label, leading to a publishing deal with Warner Chappell and a trip to L.A. to work with fellow Swede and pop songwriting/production supremo Max Martin. Lo gradually developed her own idiosyncratic style of epic, electronically tinged songwriting with raw, brutally honest lyrics, influenced as much by '80s pop as by contemporary EDM. In 2012 she self-released her debut single, "Love Ballad," a catchy, beat-driven pop track that showcased her powerful voice. It was followed in 2013 by "Habits," a dark breakup anthem that generated such Internet buzz that it led to a deal with Universal. "Habits" and its follow-up, "Out of Mind," which was much in the same vein, appeared on her debut EP for the label, Truth Serum, in 2014. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): Tove Lo 2014 06 Stay High (Tove Lo Feat. April 27, 201412 yr Major labour!! -x- Stay High is so euphoric, brilliant remix and glad to see it still top 10.
April 27, 201412 yr Kind of expecting 'Stay High' to start dropping sharply soon as R1 have dropped it from their playlist but hooray at it at least managing a second week top 10 (and it is still comfortably top 10 on iTunes so could maybe manage another week what with the deadness of the release schedule). Definitely becoming one of my favourite songs of the year very quickly. The original 'Habits' is also a great song but this still has the edge for me.
April 27, 201412 yr I wouldn't even rule out a 21st week for Happy :( or 22nd With DJ Cassidy and Neon Jungle likely to fall a lot next week I'd say 'Happy' is very likely to stay top 10. And of course there's a dead week next week so 22 weeks looks possible.
April 27, 201412 yr The big question is when will Pharell leave the Top 40? I'm going for September. Stay High is ok, I did start liking it, but I'm already starting to tire of it.
