Posted June 4, 201411 yr I rarely go to cinema for watching romantic movies but I'm sure that I will go to watch this film! I watched the official trailer two days ago and it seems a nice movie! Shailene Woodley is one of the most promising young stars!! 9ItBvH5J6ss Edited June 4, 201411 yr by Insomnio
June 4, 201411 yr Oh yes me and my best friend plan on seeing this together, i'm reading the book at the moment! ^_^
June 4, 201411 yr Just bought the book tonight, and hopefully I can read it sometime soon because all of my friends are dying to go and see it! :kink:
June 4, 201411 yr It looks f***ing terrible tbh. I hate movies that are made with the intent on making you cry, it all comes across as a bit fake / patronising. Also see: My Sisters Keeper.
June 5, 201411 yr Author It looks f***ing terrible tbh. I hate movies that are made with the intent on making you cry, it all comes across as a bit fake / patronising. Also see: My Sisters Keeper. I love "My Sister's Keeper". It was one of my favourite movies in 2009 (Top 5) and I watched many movies at the cinema that year (90). Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva were great!!! I don't think that is made with the intent on making you cry. Unfortunately, real life sometimes sucks and it's really bad and awful (Especially serious health problems).
June 5, 201411 yr I have a horrible feeling that the film is going to seriously let the book down, idk I love Shailene Woodley and everything but she seems too pretty even when she's made to look ill to play a character like Hazel. I think Ansel Elgort is perfect for Augustus though, he's gorgeous and pretty much exactly how I pictured Augustus. I just think the trailer looks like it's one of those films that just exist to make you cry like Jack said, but the book was the perfect balance of funny, light hearted and sad imo. I'm still going to watch it but I think I loved the book so much that I just have my hopes too high...
June 7, 201411 yr Author Based on Box Office Mojo : Friday Estimates: 1. Fault in our Stars - $26.1 million 2. Edge of Tomorrow - $10.7 million 3. Maleficent - $10.1 million... > Great result so far!!! I think that it will be one of the biggest surprises in this summer! Edited June 7, 201411 yr by Insomnio
June 7, 201411 yr Hopefully the film gives Charli XCX a hit, followed by a re-release for 2011 hit-that-never-was "Nuclear Seasons"? :D
June 9, 201411 yr Author It seems that it will be one of the most successful movies in this year!! Its budget was quite low ($12.000.000) when the producers of "Edge of Tomorrow" spent $178.000.000... 1. Fault in our Stars - $48.2 million 2. Maleficent - $33.5 million 3. Edge of Tomorrow - $29.1 million... >
June 13, 201411 yr I saw this yesterday at the fan advance screening at it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING The script is beautiful and the film has fantastic direction by josh Boone. The cast are just phenomenal. Laura Dern and Dafoe were great in their supporting roles and nat Wolff was amazing as well. But the lead two shine the brightest. Ansel elgort totally transforms into Gus and plays the character amazing and shaliene is just stunning, amazing, great and fantastic as Hazel Grace Lancaster. She is perfect for the role and is just simply amazing in this film. One film I cannot wait to see again
June 19, 201411 yr I'm glad it's doing so well, I haven't seen it yet, but seen the trailer and it looks really interesting and doesn't seem like some of the other terrible rom-com fluffs that has come out over the last few years, like "Fools Gold", "Endless Love (Remake)", "27 Dresses", or any rom com with Ashton Kucther

June 19, 201411 yr Going to see this tomorrow night and I'm halfway through the book so hopefully I have it finished tonight, it's so so good!
June 19, 201411 yr You need to re-evaluate your life. Was going to say the same thing. 27 Dresses is amazing .
June 20, 201411 yr Haven't seen this yet, but I read the book yesterday. It's great, but I liked the first half better than the second half.
June 21, 201411 yr FUCK. That was absolutely beautiful, amazing, emotional, the whole lot. Everything about it was just amazing, such a lovely story and Augustus was just literally the definition of a *perfect* character *.* And the shirtless scene omg. brb pre-ordering the Blu-Ray as we speak. 10/10. Tragic ending (even if it was spoiled by friends who had read the book (I've still not finished it yet oops)) but so beautiful
June 22, 201411 yr Haven't seen this yet, but I read the book yesterday. It's great, but I liked the first half better than the second half. I read the book a week ago and before seeing the movie I would've agreed with this, but I preferred the second half of the movie by far... I loved the book but truthfully I was a bit unsure about the pre-Amsterdam part of the movie. I didn't think it translated so well to the screen, particularly with how they put "An Imperial Affliction" across. I just found it a bit awkward to watch, but once they get to Amsterdam it becomes a lot stronger (because it has more powerful stuff I guess). I really got roped into it and the emotive stuff came across really well and very touching. I noticed a fair amount of minor tweaks from the book and I can understand why they were left out because there is already enough to the movie and they don't really affect the story but there was one that I *really* wish hadn't been changed ... before they fly off to Amsterdam, in the movie Augustus turned up at Hazel's house, but in the book Hazel turns up at Augustus' house and overhears him arguing with his parents. I thought this is quite significant given she later realises what they were arguing about... For once I think I actually did prefer the book to the movie but a solid 8/10 (it pains me not to give it a 9/10 but I really didn't enjoy the first half enough)

June 22, 201411 yr Haha I did love all of the music ("Boom Clap" especially) and the fact that about 50% of it was British/Irish!
