August 7, 201410 yr I made the mistake of not preparing myself a snack before sitting down to watch this. Safe to say at five past nine I was rooting around the freezer and cupboards for anything. ANYTHING.
August 7, 201410 yr Nancy IS Christine isn't she?! Her husband makes her baking tools and everything! Martha was my favourite, she's very cute (and works for Waitrose - I'm not a stalker, it was in our national newspaper/magazine). I definitely think she'll go far. A shame Claire went so early (I thought she would be the Beca of this series :(). A good opener though, I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
August 8, 201410 yr FIRST THOUGHTS from my livewatch - I already hate that one that looks like Jark and Enwezor - I'm sensing I will be aboard the KATE + CHETNA EXPRESS this series. FABULOUS PEOPLE + RECIPES - Living in hope Martha's role as the STUDENT TOTTY for Paul isn't as obnoxious as RUBELLA last year - Speaking of Iain needs to shave this instant so he can be MINE for the season as this line-up is SERIOUSLY LACKING
August 8, 201410 yr OMG at Luis's FACE OF HATE at the suggestion putting lemon drizzle in pipettes came off MEDICAL
August 9, 201410 yr Just watched this on iPlayer for the first time... It was quite entertaining actually, will certainly carry on following the series. Martha is indeed so cute  Kate seems fab too.
August 9, 201410 yr Project bake off has not gone according to plan this evening. First I BURNT the caramel, creating a volume of smoke that probably contributed an additional 2% to the entire UK output of carbon dioxide for this year... and not satisfied with this disaster then preceded to place the still very hot pan (not realising that caramel burns at 170 degrees C) in the washing up bowl and almost burnt my face as the pan explosively evaporated the water and tried to lift out of the washing up bowl. But after several hours of near disaster I do now have chocolate and caramel melt-in-the-middle puddings. Huzzah.

I don't think anyone has burned the tent down before :P

Do you have any pics of your masterpieces? :o Your baking experience sounds like the sort of thing I would do.
August 13, 201410 yr LOVING Luis and his dragon biscuits. Martha's mountain village biscuits look and sound heavenly as well.
