Meridian Dan finally releasing a follow up then? And going largely unnoticed I guess. Haven't heard but not expecting much if it hasn't been given a hyped release

Bobby Shmurda climbing :D

I think it's been out for a while since I heard it a few weeks ago. The song is okay in my opinion, but obviously it's very unlikely he's ever going to get a song bigger than German Whip, and that song is probably the only reason this is top 100 on iTunes in the first place.

Buzzjack would go into absolute melt-down if Bobby Shmurda ever charted. It's less Buzzjack-friendly than Rack City, Don't Go, Ayo Technology, Bassline Junkie, I Wanna Love You, Like a G6 and Harlem Shake combined.

@Eric_Blob all those records you listed are immense!! Especially DOnt go, agree that Meridian Dan has peaked with German Whip though :(

Don't Go is a classic! But it was really hated here when it came out, especially since it's a minimal song released in probably the "loudest" ever year for the charts, it just sounded very out of place, which is why I think a lot of people didn't like it. I think if it was released today it wouldn't seem so out of place, since almost every big chart hit is minimal these days. The main exceptions are Calvin Harris's latest songs I guess.

@Eric_Blob Was the year I started sixth form and agree it sounded out of place (remember example's Stay Awake charting highly around the same time) but surely another reason people hated it was because Wretch isn't a Buzz jacks friendly artist, for the majority at least!

I remember Don't Go by Wretch 32 and Promises by Nero were #1 when there were the summer riots a few years ago.

Yeah, I guess Wretch 32 is not a favourite, but Unorthodox or Hush Little Baby would've probably been tolerated better as a #1 than Don't Go.

Both are quality songs, but the lyricism in Don't Go is great.

Interesting he tried to repeat the formula on Blackout and Doing Ok too, definitely a better rapper when the BPM is lowered

Nice to see Bobby Shmurda doing well, can take or leave his rapping but the beat slays!

Don't Go was really boring and a non no.1. It had absolute minimal staying power.

Sounds like this BBC Music 07.10.14 8pm thing that the BBC are desperately trying to hype up

could be a "Perfect Day"-style video. It's on all BBC platforms simultaneously on Tuesday night so I wonder if the single will be released straight away and contend for #1 next week?

I swear that it was Swagger Jagger that was #1 when the London riots happened?, I remember that I was working in a shop in Camden Town at that time and some other shops nearby got looted but luckily our shop didn't get targeted.

Good decision to release the Sheridan Smith version. Better late than never, I guess.

2. Taylor Swift - Shake It Off

30 + 66. Jamie T - Zombie

88. Future Islands - Seasons (Waiting On You)

93. Jennifer Lopez - Booty (feat. Iggy Azalea)

Hope that Future Islands song can dent the top 100 officially (it won't) but even without the (amazing) performance, it's a great song!
