I think Fleur's second performance has drowned out the rest of the performances, Ben's performance was pretty average. 5/10

It feels like they have given Andrea, Fleur and Ben each their moment this week, Andrea with the xmas song, Fleur her modern song with dance break and Ben closing with a popular song. It feels like the 3 were decided to go through beforehand. I can see why there is a bottom 2 this week as if they hadn't nailed Lauren bottom of the vote this week there is no way she will escape bottom 2.

That was actually good! Until the "maybe I've been here before" bit anyway. He cracked about 3 or 4 times after that, but in think his gravelly tone covers it up a bit better than Lauren's "generic" tone usually does. And I'm SO pissed off of his VTs which are supposed to be sob stories about him growing up in a council house, his mum struggling a bit and him being SO NORMAL. Same goes for Lauren and her parents tbf although I love her.

Ben Haenow - 'Hallelujah' / 5/10 There were some great points of that vocally but in terms of matching his voice to that song, absolutely never. People said they thought Burke stripped the emotion out of that song, but it had 1000x more emotion in it than that which I felt just stripped away the emotion and the melody of it. So many people have done it better than this on the show and I knew it'd be just as disappointing as that. Way too shouty.

God Ben was NOT suited to that song AT ALL

Lauren was the weak link tonight, it's her time to go. Not that I thought too much of Ben either but he ever so slightly edged it over Lauren.

I usually don't get all the hype about Fleur, but she absolutely SMASHED the 'Uptown Funk' performance tonight, I already want to watch it again!

Also, mentioning favourite X-factor performances I completely forgot about Hannah Barrett of last year! Damn.

 

This year for me is missing really good female vocalists. Lauren/Lola had potential but they fell flat for me week after week. Fleur has a decent voice, but she's not a big vocalist by any means.

I gave 10 votes to Fleur across my two devices. I know this is really defeatist and not helping her at all, but Lauren is so certain to be bottom 2 and go that i don't see the point :lol:

 

Also, Fleur's Uptown Funk is probably my favourite X Factor performance since Little Mix's Don't let Go, absolutely insane :wub:
