December 7, 201411 yr Glad to see this flopping. Never particularly liked any John Lewis ad song but this is by far the worst of the charting ones.
December 7, 201411 yr 22 17 18 Sam Smith I'm Not The Only One In The Lonely Hour | 2014 http://a3.mzstatic.com/us/r30/Music5/v4/3e/34/5e/3e345ec0-d75f-5cc8-c10f-211e071c56bf/14UMGIM31259.170x170-75.jpg Chart Run: 69-40-17-9-5-3-6-6-9-12-12-10-10-10-10-17-17-22 Release date: 31-08-2014 Format: digital single Label: Capitol Records Chart sales: 400k+ Video here: nCkpzqqog4k download track listing 1 I'm Not the Only One (Radio Edit) 2 I'm Not the Only One (Armand Van Helden Remix) 3 I'm Not the Only One (Grant Nelson Remix) 4 I'm Not the Only One (Armand Van Helden's DAT SHIZNIT IZ SLAMMIN' Remix) Biography Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes Chart history (Year peak title): 2012 11 Latch (Disclosure Feat. December 7, 201411 yr Let's hope she is not performing this tonight  on X Factor :drama: Of course she will, what else could she do unless she does a Christmas track but it will be a John Legend style mash up probably! Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith need to go away but sadly with the gift card effect coming up they won't be going anywhere just yet
December 7, 201411 yr This seemed to get a bigger boost from his performance on Alan Carr than the actual song that he performed! (Although Joseph reliably informs me this was already massively gaining before that anyway for some reason). Still really liking this anyway, I do hope 'Listen To The Man' can join it (and 'Blame It On Me') in the top 40 next week. George performed 'Budapest' on The One Show on Friday evening, a few hours before his Alan Carr performance!
December 7, 201411 yr Oh FFS the amount of insipid MOR in this section of the chart is suffocating! :manson:
December 7, 201411 yr George performed 'Budapest' on The One Show on Friday evening, a few hours before his Alan Carr performance! That explains that! Why was he performing 'Budapest' though  He could at LEAST have done 'Blame It On Me' instead if he had to do 2 different songs. 'I'm Not The Only One' out of the top 20, hooray. *re-enters next week*

December 7, 201411 yr This section of the chart is so boring this week  I've found that the case as well for the last few months! 40-31 sees all the big drops from the recent tracks but 30-11 has been the slowest and dullest until the top 10 but only if there's a few new entries still to reveal!
December 7, 201411 yr Oh for crying out loud what's caused the rebound for it THIS time? Don't say Andrea because that was last week. It is because of Andrea's rendition of the song on last weeks X Factor
December 7, 201411 yr That explains that! Why was he performing 'Budapest' though  He could at LEAST have done 'Blame It On Me' instead if he had to do 2 different songs. 'I'm Not The Only One' out of the top 20, hooray. *re-enters next week* I was only half-watching it but I think someone from the Hungarian Embassy presented him with some sort of award for 'Budapest' or something like that!
December 7, 201411 yr What a boring chart this week - streaming really is slowing things down; the only exciting thing each week is the new entries. Happy to see Hozier and Sia on the climb again though - still firmly in the T10 on streaming, all Hozier needs is a boost from X Factor or something to let him re-peak (#25 currently) - I think it's certainly possible. Great to see Wham joining Mariah and The Pogues in the T40 already too - interesting that it only spent 2 weeks in the T40 last year, so hopefully it should fare a little better this time around.
December 7, 201411 yr Oh for crying out loud what's caused the rebound for it THIS time? Don't say Andrea because that was last week. Well it actually was Andrea... A performance on a Saturday night tends to have an effect a week later on the chart, a few hours isn't really enough for it to climb massively... :P
December 7, 201411 yr It is because of Andrea's rendition of the song on last weeks X Factor Someone had to... Where's wrecking ball then?
