Haven't heard this before but it's quite intriguing on first listen, nice to have something a bit different charting.

Biography

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Love this Sam Smith song! Awesome voice
I now love 'Like I Can', despite not exactly being a Sam Smith fan and initially finding it underwhelming. Definitely a grower.
Like I Can is superb. Need to make more upbeat songs like this Sam!

To me Sam Smith is the very definition of DULL.

This does the job :D

'Like I Can' is quickly becoming one of my favorite singles of his. It's a refreshing change of pace from his usual ballad fare.
Bar "Stay with Me", I could listen to Sam Smith's music on repeat. "Like I Can" deserves to return to the T10 somehow and make sure he's on course for a fourth solo platinum record ("I'm Not the Only One" can't be too far off now surely?)

Song info

"Do They Know It's Christmas?" is a song written by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in 1984 to raise money for relief of the 1983–85 famine in Ethiopia. The original version was produced by Midge Ure and released by Band Aid on 28 November 1984.

At a press conference on 10 November 2014, Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure announced that in 2014 a group of artists would again come together to re-record the song, this time under the banner of 'Band Aid 30' and in aid of the Ebola crisis. It was released on the following Monday, 17 November, just 11 days short of the 30th anniversary of the release of the original version of the track. - iTunes

Haha good point! Thanks I'll update it now

Flop Aid such floppage

Hope it can get a decent climb next week off the CD release, it definitely won't be going back to #1 though.

Never been crazy about this version of 'Do They Know It's Christmas'. Terrible chart run. How many physical's are being released? Can it climb back into the top 5? It makes me appreciate the original or even Band Aid 20. :(
