December 7, 201411 yr A third really good single in a row from Ella IMO, shame the XF performance didn't have a bigger effect. #16 isn't TOO awful for a post-album single I guess, hope it can hang around a bit.
December 7, 201411 yr Definitely Ella's weakest song yet, not awful and nice in a wintery ballad sort of way but nothing remarkable.

December 7, 201411 yr 16 00 03 Ella Henderson Yours Chapter One | 2014 Chart Run: 46-66-xx-16 Discussion Thread Here 16 is a bad result for Ella considering she performed it on last Sunday's X Factor, dropped the video for the song, got frequent AirPlay by Capital and performed the song on last nights Jonathan Ross. I hope the song goes top 10 next week Edited December 7, 201411 yr by Hadji
December 7, 201411 yr Why are people keep on downloading (and deleting) these songs? Not enough iPhone space to store them all through the year? They probably sell a similar number of copies each year to songs like Mr Brightside. The difference is that most of the sales are concentrated in the last few weeks of the year while Mr Brightside sells consistently throughout the year.
December 7, 201411 yr Going from a nice ballad to a considerably-less-nice ballad. Still pretty nice but I'm not hearing too many redeeming features.
December 7, 201411 yr I'm old enough too :o I was 15 and thought the video is a bit weird to the song  I was 18 then :P I was 6 and I barely remember it. Wasn't born for the Pogues :o Thanks guys. I'm officially old!!
December 7, 201411 yr The theory that it's the same people buying Mariah/The Pogues etc. every year and then deleting them and buying them again is very easily debunked by the fact that iTunes won't physically let you do that (if you delete it and download it again you get it free and it doesn't count as a new sale). May not be true on other sites but the songs clearly do very well on iTunes anyway so there must still be a lot of new purchasers each year.
December 7, 201411 yr This is so so so so so painful to listen to. It must be incredibly difficult to make a song that is both painful AND boring at the same time.
December 7, 201411 yr Two actually. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galway_Bay_%28song%29 And this, although it dates from after FONY IG6aiSBh4m8
December 7, 201411 yr Happy for "Yours" and "Jealous" to hang around for a bit longer, both very nice ballads that fit it quite nicely amongst all the other ballads clogging up the T40. I cannot wait for next week when we get Bring Me the Horizon and Oliver Heldens to liven things up a bit!
December 7, 201411 yr It never really generates airplay in the US, other tracks seem to overshadow it on the chart (a bit confusing considering it's named after my state but...), but I'm happy I've heard it now. Glad to see it pick up another fan :cheer:
December 7, 201411 yr 11 for The Pogues/Kirsty. Had it on Now 10 - on vinyl ha! I think its the only instance of a Christmas song being on a proper Now album? The Power Of Love is on NOW 46 and NOW 84

The purchasers are probably young teenagers who've yet to buy the song once.
December 7, 201411 yr Aww, 'The Hanging Tree' not even climbing in the end. Ah well, two weeks top 15 is pretty good
December 7, 201411 yr The Hanging Tree is a nice breath of fresh air in the chart~ Watched the film yesterday and it's great, the song's nice too
