Hadji: please don't edit the whole chart post, because the many Youtube videos slows down the page anyway, just delete the unnecessary info from it when quoting. Thank you ;)

Knew it would be close, can't have been more than 100 or so 'copies' between them (and The Pogues will be a decent amount ahead on sales). Hoping The Pogues have a chance of overtaking next week but I won't hold my breath (especially as Mariah seems to have closed their combined lead a bit on iTunes).
Why are people keep on downloading (and deleting) these songs? Not enough iPhone space to store them all through the year?
How is that even possible :o I know you're American but still, it's a proper classic which needs to be heard by everyone  It gets lots of airplay in the UK every Christmas anyway.

The Pogues only one place behind Mariah *.*.*

It never really generates airplay in the US, other tracks seem to overshadow it on the chart (a bit confusing considering it's named after my state but...), but I'm happy I've heard it now.

Oooh 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' as well! :cheer:  :cheer:

I don't think always the same people buy these songs

But it is strange a bit :)

I'm ACTUALLY old enough to remember when Mariah charted first time 'round. I was 25!!!

It's weird how they always chart in the same order with usually only Mariah am: the Pogues swapping places during the run.

I'm old enough too :o

I was 15 and thought the video is a bit weird to the song

I was 18 then :P

I was 6 and I barely remember it. Wasn't born for the Pogues :o

This to me is actually a very disappointing result. Thought a guaranteed top 10 was on the cards (some optimistic posters even thought number 1 wasn't out of the question). It is rather boring compared to her last 2 so it rightfully peaks lower.

Yeah I never knew Fairytale of New York existed until I began following the UK charts. Since then I've only heard it once on the radio and it was in July

This is very pretty but it's nothing spectatular or stand-out ~ still a very solid track though.

11 for The Pogues/Kirsty. Had it on Now 10 - on vinyl ha! I think its the only instance of a Christmas song being on a proper Now album?
