December 21, 201411 yr Am I the only one who didn't see this spending 30+ weeks in the T40. While "Money on My Mind" hasn't done half as poorly as I thought it would, I was sure this wouldn't fare that much better. The poorest album track imo, but great to see Sam Smith getting success regardless - "Like I Can" deserves to be HUGE though!
December 21, 201411 yr This is such a poor Christmas chart in truth (and it can't even wholly be blamed on streaming). At least this didn't return to the top 10 which was entirely plausable. Having said that everything performed on X Factor final has done minimal. Where's Photograph/Where Do Broken Hearts Go?
December 21, 201411 yr "everyone's favourite Christmas song" Jameela knows it *.* What Jameela says, goes ^_^

Under the guidance of Columbia Records executive Tommy Mottola, Carey released her self-titled debut studio album Mariah Carey in 1990; it went multi-platinum and spawned four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Following her marriage to Mottola in 1993 and success with hit records Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993), and Merry Christmas (1994), Carey was established as Columbia's highest-selling act. Daydream (1995) made music history when its second single "One Sweet Day", a duet with Boyz II Men, spent a record sixteen weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, and remains the longest-running number-one song in U.S. chart history. During the recording of the album, Carey began to deviate from her R&B and pop beginnings and slowly traversed into hip hop. This musical change became evident with the release of Butterfly (1997), at which time Carey had separated from Mottola. Carey left Columbia in 2000, and signed a $100 million recording contract with Virgin Records. Before the release of her first feature film Glitter (2001), she suffered a physical and emotional breakdown and was hospitalized for severe exhaustion. Following the film's poor reception, she was bought out of her recording contract for $50 million, which led to a decline in her career. She signed a multi-million dollar contract deal with Island Records in 2002, and after an unsuccessful period, returned to the top of music charts with The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). Its second single "We Belong Together" became her most successful single of the 2000s, and was later named "Song of the Decade" by Billboard. Carey once again ventured into film with a well-received supporting role in Precious (2009); she was awarded the "Breakthrough Performance Award" at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and Black Reel and NAACP Image Award nominations. In a career spanning over two decades, Carey has sold more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. In 1998, she was honored as the world's best-selling recording artist of the 1990s at the World Music Awards. Carey was also named the best-selling female artist of the millennium in 2000. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, she is the third best-selling female artist in the United States, with 63.5 million certified albums. With the release of "Touch My Body" (2008), Carey gained her eighteenth number one single in the United States, more than any other solo artist. In 2012, Carey was ranked second on VH1's list of the "100 Greatest Women in Music". Aside from her commercial accomplishments, Carey has won five Grammy Awards, 17 World Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards, and 31 Billboard Music Awards. Referred to as the "songbird supreme" by the Guinness World Records, she is famed for her five-octave vocal range, power, melismatic style and signature use of the whistle register. - Wikipedia Chart history (Year peak title): 1990 09 Vision Of Love -1- 1990 37 Love Takes Time -2- 1991 38 Someday -3- 1991 54 There's Got To Be A Way -4- 1991 17 Emotions -1- 1992 20 Can't Let Go -2- 1992 17 Make It Happen -3- 1992 02 I'll Be There -1- 1993 09 Dreamlover -1- 1993 07 Hero -2- 1994 01 Without You -3- 1994 08 Anytime You Need A Friend -4- 1994 03 Endless Love (Luther Vandross & Mariah Carey) 1994 02 All I Want For Christmas Is You -1- MILLION SELLER 1995 04 Fantasy -1- 1995 06 One Sweet Day (Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men) -2- 1996 04 Open Arms -3- 1996 03 Always Be My Baby -4- 1997 03 Honey -1- 1997 22 Butterfly -2- 1998 04 My All -3- 1998 04 When You Believe (Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston) -1- 1999 16 I Still Believe -2- 1999 05 Heartbreaker -1- 2000 10 Thank God I Found You (Mariah Carey Feat. December 21, 201411 yr "Everyone's favourite Christmas song" - explains why it usually charts lower than The Pogues ~ The Pogues victorious on Christmas Day once more despite streaming *.*
December 21, 201411 yr At 30 weeks in the top 30, maybe this could break Happy's record as well? Wouldn't at all be surprised, he'll have gift card help, then BRITs exposure etc. Woo! Mariah bringing us much needed festive joy :D
December 21, 201411 yr Yay for Mariah!! :yahoo: I actually thought this would have just been outside the top20. They'll be telling us Band Aid 30 is top 10 next!! Nah, don't think so!

December 21, 201411 yr Sorry Jameela Your an amazing chart presenter but All I Want for Chirstmas is not my favorite christmas song IMO...Cant wait for The Pouges :D
December 21, 201411 yr I can see this spending another week T20 next week. It'll have 5 days of sales/streaming - and surely streaming on Christmas day will benefit it hugely? With only "Heroes" as a new entry above it, could it well improve on it's #16 peak in 2014?
December 21, 201411 yr Except it doesn't usually chart lower, she's just losing out this year due to Google Play offering the song for free ^_^ Whatever helps you sleep at night.
December 21, 201411 yr :hi: Buzzjack Adore this song so much, my favourite ever Christmas song. And yay at Hozier repeaking :cheer:
