And so begins the first of EIGHT tracks by the three dominating male solo artists of the moment (Sam Smith x 3, Ed Sheeran x 3, George Ezra x 2). You could even add Olly Murs to this list and it'll make TEN, but his 'domination' hasn't been for as long.

Biography

Pierre David Guetta (French pronunciation: [piɛʁ david ɡɛˈta]; 7 November 1967) is a French house music producer and disc jockey. Originally a DJ at nightclubs during the 1980s and 1990s, he co-founded Gum Productions and released his first album, Just a Little More Love, in 2002. Later, he released Guetta Blaster (2004) and Pop Life (2007).

Guetta achieved mainstream success with his 2009 album One Love which included the hit singles "When Love Takes Over", "Gettin' Over You", "Sexy Bitch", all three of which reached #1 in the United Kingdom, and "Memories". The 2011 followup album, Nothing but the Beat, continued this success, containing the hit singles "Where Them Girls At", "Little Bad Girl", "Without You", "Titanium" and "Turn Me On".

David Guetta has sold over six million albums and 15 million singles worldwide. In 2011 Guetta was voted as the #1 DJ in the 'DJ Mag Top 100 DJs' fan poll. - Wikipedia

Discussion Thread Here

this reminds me Don't will probably be back in the top 20 :drama: it'll be a long while before we have an Ed-free chart show.

Probably when Nicole Scherzinger gets her next number 1.

Dangerous this low already :( was hoping it'd hold up better than Lovers on the Sun but it doesn't seem to be doing that.
I thought with this being 59p on iTunes, it could climb. Let's hope DG moves onto the next single from 'Listen' in January.
I forgot this song was in the chart this week as well  Nice surprise though

thought Dangerous might've climbed a little! easily the best Guetta track in a long time still

Biography

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Album Discussion Here

Perhaps Guetta shouldn't have held back this single for ages and then promoted a different single the week this came out?

Or perhaps he should have released a single that was actually good.

Perhaps he did :D

You're acting as if it's flopped :P

Stay With Me ahead of I'm Not the Only One  will that song ever go??? :banghead:

Sadly not until the British public aren't in a state of depression...

It hasn't exactly done a great deal worse though:

1-3-7-14-15-21

vs

5-9-9-15-22-26

Could have more weeks in the top 40 overall I think (it only needs 3 more). I really hope so anyway as it's massively, massively superior. Should have been the lead single.

Am I the only one completely bored of the Christmas songs and the fact the same one re-enter every single year? The are just awful. The only Christmas song I have ever liked is Wham but its been so over played I can't listen to it now.

Had he released Dangerous as lead then LOTS I think he wouldn't have got a number 1 though. Dangerous is too different to his normal sound to fit the formulaic template that the GP would have been expecting.

‘Dangerous’ :music:

Sam Smith needs to take a long sabbatical from the chart~
